PHEINOX 305 Stainless Steel screws are corrosion and stain resistant - designed to withstand wet environments. Typical applications for 305 stainless are in corrosive environments such as lakes, pools, spas, decks, and boardwalks. Compatible with most wood types including cedar, redwood and ipe.

GRK RSS PHEINOX Stainless Steel Rugged Structural Screw has a patented design and made of specially hardened steel to provide customers with high tensile, torque and shear strength. The sharp threads and points bite instantly into material, including hardwood, reducing the splitting effect due to smaller shanks. The GRK RSS series screws that are 3-1/8-Inch and longer have six CEE threads which enlarge the screw hole for the non-threaded portion of the fastener, allowing the wood to settle easily and increases the screw's drawing strength. The CEE thread also reduces the friction on the screw shank which can lower the driving torque and reduce splitting. The round head with built-in washer type head shield does not have any sharp edges like conventional lag screws. The added shoulder underneath the washer has the ability to center the RSS screw in pre-drilled hardware like hinges and connector plates. The RSS screws can be used as a lag screw alternative. Some sizes available is PHEINOX Stainless Steel.

Best fastener for installing in 2x’s, less stress on wood. Pilot hole required, or they’ll wring off. Cannot be installed with wrench, shaft can’t take the uneven torque. Wrung one, bent one; wallowed only one drive socket.While best price & availability, only thing 5/16” about it is the head. Shaft only 3/16”. missed return date window.

I really like these screws, they are high quality and save a lot of time. All stainless steel is ridiculously priced and these are no exception, so I only use them when a customer specifies that I use stainless. I have yet to strip one out and they work well at forcing warped boards into place. I have bought off brands from Menards before and had the heads snap off while driving them. I've never had that issue with these.
