The Greenlee Slug-Buster manual knockout kit for 1- to 1-1/4-inch conduit is favored by most electrical experts. Versatile Performance
The Greenlee Slug-Buster knockout kit will create punch holes for most conduit sizes, including 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch, as well as for 1-inch and 1-1/2-inch holes. Exceptionally versatile, the tools in the Greenlee Slug-Buster knockout kit will make holes in mild steel and in aluminum up to 10 gauge; they will also punch holes in fiberglass and plastic and can make holes for conduit with an outside diameter of 7/8 inches. Thoughtfully designed, the Slug-Buster can be used with a battery or hydraulic ratchet, as well as with a manual ratchet.

Awesome tool. Very compact. Need to purchase the wrench 🔧 separately but very sharp. Also need cutting grease to make last longer. Excellent tool.

Not only does it cut a perfect hole it cuts the slug in two pieces so it just falls out, instade of having to fight with it. the cutter housing turns on a bearing while pulling the cutting bit through the metal. We used it on Stainless steel with no problems. Make sure you have a good drill bit for metal, for the pilot hole, then use a step drillbit to get to the proper size for the threads to go through. When cutting bit does not slip and is very smooth.

All the Greenlee tools I've owned have been the best money can buy. This punch set is no exception. I used a 1/2" drive ratchet and 1" socket, and making the punch was effortless.Excellent product Greenlee!

Of course it works great! It's a Greenlee. Normally I'd expect the company or foreman to provide this but being the only electrician on the project meant I had to get my own. No need for the expensive one with the ratchet wrench, a 1" socket, adaptor, and an impact driver works better anyway.

Use the 3/4 inch (nominal size) and the Arlington grommets for fishing pipework and wiring through steel track and for new knockouts in the studs. A good solution if you're not looking to by the steel stud punch for 500+ dollars to do almost the same job. This kit also has a few different sizes so it can be useful for other projects.

I used a set like these 20 years ago and recently biught another set for a home project. I used a ratchet and socket to tighten the bolt and create the knock out.I saw a quetuon about using an impact to tighten these.It is posible to use one but it will dull the knockout tool faster. I have never used an impact but I have seen the results.This kit is worth the time and effort it saves you.A unu but wiorks to but yuo may exceed the clearance you need if you used a unibit.
