Good thickness, and pleasant dark green color for protecting winter vegetables or flowers sensitive to frost. I have always used white frost cloth but it ends up looking like a bunch of ghosts in the yard, which is fine but this alternative color now, is more pleasant to look at. We have several gardens.I see no issues with longevity and it looks cleaner than some of the white frost cloths I have purchased that show dirt or black mold, and cannot be cleaned.

While I haven't used this frost fabric in the garden yet, it seems to be of good quality and comparable to other 1 oz frost fabric I have used. It's important to know that frost fabric comes in different weights, and the weight determines the amount of protection it provides. The fabric weight is 1 oz, which means it provides 4-6º F of protection. If you need more protection that that, you should purchase a heavier weight fabric. This weight will work nicely to extend your season for at least a few weeks if you live in a northern state. I haven't used green frost fabric before, so I am curious how much light will transmit through the fabric. **Edit: I contacted the seller, and this fabric has 30% light transmission. That means it will work just fine to protect your plants from an overnight frost, but you should remove it in the morning and reapply it at night again if needed. You shouldn't use this particular fabric 24 hours a day to extend your growing season for fall/winter gardening. It's not a knock on this product at all, just a heads up about the best use for it.**Frost fabric is much easier to use than old bed sheets for frost protection. The non woven polypropylene fabric is lightweight enough lo lay right over even young plants, or it can be used as a row cover over hoops. It won't fray at all when you cut it. It also doesn't absorb moisture the way sheets do. (You should still make sure it's completely dry before storing it.)Most gardeners are looking for ways to extend the growing season, and frost fabric like this is an economical way to do so.

Get a jump on gardening with plant cover. This stuff works to keep frost from killing plants. Very helpful in my area.

I ordered this because I don't trust the weather and had started some seeds indoors that I wanted to plant outside before the last possible frost date. I have been pulling potted plants in at night to protect from cold and then out in late morning to enjoy the sun. Temperature ranges of 35 at night and 68 during the day aren't always great for young plants. I was putting bed sheets and blankets to cover my raised beds but blankets were too heavy and broke some stems while the sheets wouldn't have been enough protection from freezing temperatures. This seems to be a much better solution. I do have to get some hoops to help support this for when I use it. It's not predicted to frost in the 10 day forecast but this might help with adapting the seedlings to being outside as it will put the temperature between what they started at in the house and how cool the nights still get. I am considering if this could also be used to help shade the plants when the sun turns brutal but might just have to store this for using in the winter and get shade cloth for the summer until other less delicate plants shade the more delicate ones.Still glad to know I have this handy for cooler temps and won't have to pull out my sheets and comforters .
