Just pay attention to the description. The foot rest will not come up until you push your back the back support. I actually like to sit up right with my feet out resting on the foot rest sometimes. The chair is also small and not suited for larger people. Also, there is a return fee for this item, in my case it was $150.UPDATE: The seller was fantastic about my return, and gave me a full refund. The chair assembly was very easy, and the chair is comfortable, albeit for smaller folks.

I liked the easy assembly. It's comfortable to sit/recline.

The chairs were easy to put together. They are super comfortable and recline perfectly. Can’t wait for warmer weather to use them

Product surprisingly arrived a couple of days early. While opening the box, a bolt was found loosely. Not knowing if it came loose or was an extra, we sat it aside and proceeded to assemble the chair. The recliner was very well packaged and included a separate package with all the necessary tools. Once assembled, we realized the bolt was needed to hold the foot stool in place. The bolt will not tighten as it is either defective, broken or the threads are stripped. We contacted manufacturer and they indicated we would have to contact Amazon as that was where we purchased the chair. Amazon advised to contact manufacturer! As of this writing the problem has not been solved. However, the chair looks great, nice cushion, but in our opinion it is not comfortable enough for a bigger, taller person.

First let me say this is a nice chair. If you want a cozy fluffy chair, forget it. This chair is comfortable but very firm. The mechanism works with effort. Not sure a weak elderly person could use it. But we like them. 4 stars only because we had to assemble it. About the assembly process, do yourself a favor and pre screw and unscrew the nuts on the chair let’s BEFORE trying to install them on the chair. The machining is not perfect and it is hard to get the nut on straight while standing on your head trying to man over it on the leg while holding a washer and locking washer. You may have to manipulate the weaving to attach the decorative tops on the screws holding the back on. It is not hard or complicated to assemble, just awkward and frustrating when. You cannot get the nuts on without cross threading. And do yourself a favor and get a ratchet wrench to install the nuts. That little wrench provided is ridiculous and time consuming. But all that aside, it is a very nice chair. Not sure if we could have found a better deal or not. But I would recommend it, but be aware the assembly, although simple and not complicated is a bit of a pain.

There are some things that I just prefer seeing live before buying. This chair was one of those. Not having any nearby,I took the risk, and am totally glad I did.I bought this for my wife who us in a memory care unit. All too often she would sit, slumped over in a chair, putting strain on her neck. I was hoping a recliner would give her a more comfortable way to sit. Yet I didn't want to spend lots of money on one. And I wanted to be able to easily transport it to the facility she is in. So, I looked for a wicker recliner. The chair is sturdy, easy to operate, and easy enough to put together. (Although the 15 to 20 minutes mentioned in the instructions is optimistic. By the way, the instructions are some of the clearest I've ever come across).I of course can't compare it to others I saw online, but I can't help but think that buying this one at a higher price than some of the others was well worth it.I wouldn't hesitate recommending this chair to anyone looking for an affordable recliner, either for outdoors, or as in my case, indoors.Oh, I nearly forgot, it looks great!

I’m 6’2” and I’d hate to see how much my feet hang over the footrest on the smaller version of this. The footrest stops a couple of inches above my ankles. The padding is fine and the chair is sturdy with minimal assembly. I find the footrest extension link to the recline mechanism awkwardly made and it needs to start extending sooner and rise higher than it does for any kind of comfortable position. I’ll keep it for sitting and find a lounger as well. I haven’t found ANY porch recliner worth a crap for my height and that’s frustrating.Quick update-Reading a book in this chair is painful on the elbows. The rattan armrests abrade my elbows in just a few minutes when “resting” them on them. A cover of at least a towel is required. Further, I’m right-handed and hadn’t noticed the flip-up tray is on the LEFT side. Completely inconvenient. Never would have bought this knowing what I do now. One further issue is the push button to actuate the recline function. I have bone spurs in my thumb CMC joints as well as osteoarthritis and trying to press this button in to initiate the movement is torture. It is far too hard to do so and a lever on the outside of the chair would have been far better for me.

These chairs are comfortable and are great for laying back. I’m a bit disappointed that the foot rest does not rise unless the seat is fully reclined in a laying position. Most recliners will let the foot rest come out, so you can sit up and read the paper with your legs resting. I bought 2 poufs to use for that and now they are perfect! They are well made and look very nice on my patio.
