As the headline says, the hammer dropped out of my pocket on the way to work after two days, and the head snapped off. That's right, it snapped off. The head is glued on. I cannot recommend this product.Pro: It works well as a reflex hammer. The rubber heads are ample and the weight is reasonable if a bit light.Con: It does not work very well when the top has fallen off.

I has a similar hammer since 1994 which was going strong, until I lost it. Naturally, I replaced it with the same. The new hammer that I received, looked and felt exactly like my beloved old hammer. The rubber bumper was very hard, but I attributed that to being brand new. Unfortunately the rubber bumper got dislocated while testing a patient reflexes. Clearly, the quality is not the same.

This hammer is the exact same as more expensive variants on the market. Overall, very pleased with the shipping speed and the value.

I was working as an exam physician for a biotech company, and part of the exams was a basic neuro exam. This hammer NEVER FAILED to get a DTR on pretty much any area I tried. When others used it, some had a little difficulty getting the swing down. My advice is to pinch it between 2 fingers and let it swing in your hand, don't grasp it.

Dejerine is the best for eliciting deep tendon reflexes. The disadvantage of this version is that the handle is not sharp enough for getting a Babinski reflex.

Pretty good hammer for an awesome price. Has the right combination of nice balance and weight to get DTRs. Nicely built.

truly a wonderful reflex hammer---those muscle stretch reflexes are insanely responsive to even the slightest energy applied by this high-tech instrument.....a MUST for any reflex afficionado !Can also be used to unstick carburetor float bowls in one's Jag-you-are....after a long day hammering on reflexes. This hammer saved my life once when the Jag-you-are became stuck in a 3 inch snow drift---I used the sunlight reflection on the shiny silver handle to notify a passing bobby of my distress.......I cannot say enough...thank you !!!!
