This black material isnβt as hard as some of them out there, which is more pleasant for the client/patient.

It works just fine but Iβm constantly worried the hammer is going to fall out because itβs very loose. I keep it in a small bag so that it wonβt break but itβs done itβs job well so far.

Got for nursing school and it worked great, while the ones they supplied the class kept popping the rubber piece out, mine worked like a charm! Affordable and works, definitely recommend.

This does the job of course, but it is noticeably light compared to the standard reflex hammer. Consider spending the extra few $ and get one with a bit more heft to it.

Mom/baby RN who frequently has patients on magnesium where I have to do hourly neuro checks. Most of the nurses on my floor use the head of their stethoscope to do these checks. I did that for a couple weeks on orientation and it was always so difficult! A preceptor recommended getting a reflex hammer like this after I used hers and loved it. I'm now using this little hammer and I am able to find reflexes on the knee soooo much easier than with a stethoscope. I know there are probably nicer ones out there, but this does the job so perfect for the basic assessment that I need.

Very sturdy rubber piece. Handle is nice and easy to clean. Looks nice with the silver handle and black rubber. And for the price it was definitely worth the purchase

Got this for my ex cuz she needed it for her nursing class. She reports all thumbs up! Apparently this is the old style neuro hammer which is no frills and does the job its supposed to, and the price is definitely right compared to the newer style hammers. Old school for the win!

I bought this hammer before starting my neurology rotation and I love it. It's light and easy to use. The metal end is sharp enough to use for the Babinski reflex. The head is made of a hard rubber.
