These are a clear improvement over oem junk that comes on most basses. Even the screws are better quality. The posts are better, the tuning accuracy is better and these do not have any slip or funny gear issues.

Really fast shipping, quality tuners. Gotoh uses substantially better design tolerances than much of the competition, in my opinion. I have used just about every tuning machine on the market over the years, and I like the Gotoh better than most. The washers are substantial, not flimsy, paper-thin. The shafts for the bass tuners require slightly smaller holes drilled into the bass headpiece (a good thing) , yet they appear to be more sturdy than other tuners I've used. Very smooth, low gear lash and a nice finish. Schaller probably still has the nicest finished tuning machines, but not by much. Gotoh 's pricing is very fair for the exceptional quality product they ship.

Great price for quality tuners... Burly engineering, smooth assembly... these should last a long time.

I recently bought an Epiphone Embassy that I love, but the stock tuners were pretty sloppy. These Gotoh minis had a lot of positive reviews and are in my price range. They fit snugly on my Embassy, and feel much more solid and look beefy! They hold tune, absolutely no slop and operate smoothly. I like the shape of the peg. The finish is a bright chrome, a bit brighter than the nickel hardware on my bass, but it’s hardly noticeable. They definitely improve the overall quality of my bass. You can spend more money if you want, but why?

As soon as you see these tuning keys you understand why these are the ones Ibanez install on their pricey basses. I`m replacing with these the originals that came from the factory on an Ibanez SRX 700 bass and the fit is perfect, the Gotoh are stronger, very well made, smoother, tuning now is very easy, the difference is like night and day. I`m very happy with this purchase. Made in Japan.

Installed these on a Yamaha TRBX174EW. Not exactly a Fender Custom Shop and nowhere near the price either. The Yamaha tuners aren't great and it's pretty obvious this is one area where Yamaha saved money.Unlike the original tuners these have screw collars that firmly clamp the tuners to the head, which helps stabilize them. The small screws on the back of the head then just prevent turning further. Kind of belt and braces.Be aware that the screw collars are 14 mm diameter and the original holes in the head are 13.8 mm diameter. You can either open up the holes a little with a 14 mm drill, sandpaper, or do as I did and push them in with a G-clamp. They'll be a tight fit. Also be aware the original tuner mounting screw holes will be visible. You can leave them or fill them with toothpicks or wood filler. Your choice.
