It seems like the bulbs should last longer while in use but they're reasonably priced and easily replaced and the bug zapper is very efficient.

This is like the 4th one we have had to purchase in a short time. They keep burning out.

Removal of the non-working original bulb was easy; however, replacing it with the new bulb was a challenge. There are four (4) pins to align from the new bulb to the socket. It is difficult to see through the plastic, grated housing of the lantern. And once in place, the bulb needs to be securely pressed into its base in order to place the holding cap and screw into position. I was fearful of breaking the new bulb, but with a gentle rocking pressure, the bulb did seat well so that the lantern could be secured. Now, it works well--but previous reviews indicated that a new replacement bulb did not last long. We'll wait and see.
