With all the information coming out about the issues with black plastic utensils we have replaced ours with melamine. While stiffer than the black plastic ones it still works great and doesn’t hurt our non-stick pans.

I have a melamine spatula that's over 40 years old. I bought new kitchen utensils when we moved into our new house before our son was born. Even though it has a scorch mark on the back of it and tiny chips along the top edge of it, I refuse to get rid of it, because it's so sturdy and still easy to clean. The spatulas in local stores are flimsy silicone or plastic, the flat is too narrow and can barely pick up an egg let alone anything bigger. It's all you can get, and mostly only in black, which I recently found out are toxic to use, because of the process used to make the utensils the black color. I decided to see if Amazon carried melamine spatulas and to their credit and my happiness, they do! I ordered 2 :) The flat is smaller surface than my 40+ year old one, but they're heavy duty, sturdy melamine, and I'm glad I can still get them. I recommend this purchase.

This is a good stiff spatula that won't scratch up non-stick skillets. Most spatulas I've tried are too flimsy (plastic, silicon, etc.) or they scratch up non-stick pans (metal). This is the best of both. If I had to do again, I wouldn't get one with the slots, since they get food stuck in there that takes an extra minute to clean out, but overall not a big deal. I've used it about 9 months now, and it still looks brand new.

I was so happy to find this spatula. When my mother passed away 10 years ago, I kept her melamine spatula. I used it every day since. It was sturdy, didn't bend under the weight of heavier thing, was easy to slip under eggs. etc.Unfortunately, it eventually cracked and I had to throw it away. I have tried several spatulas since then but none worked as good. I read in a google search about this spatula and am so happy I bought it. It is just like the one I had that cracked, except it is white. I am not sure how the color will hold out yet or if it will stain, but right now I am really happy I found it.

I had a spatula like this for years, until I broke it by foolishly trying to use it to pull a 10 pound chicken out of the pan. I saved the pieces to compare to this replacement, since too often such items grow a tad thinner each year. I am happy to report, this seems exactly the same as the one I got 5-10y ago.It really works great for everything, and is heat resistant within reason (better than nylon for sure). Handle is comfy to hold, and easy to clean (I hate kitchen tools with elaborate grip patterns- I'm not cooking on a bucking bronco, I don't need a good grip! It just makes them a pain to wash and dry). It doesn't stain even with tomato. Just flawless, imho.

I love melamine kitchen utensils. They're strong and durable, but don't scratch non-stick cookware. And these live up to that. I like the wider wedge-shaped surface; it's good for picking up larger items.I do not recommend buying these from here, however. One, after I had bought these from here having never seen this style before elsewhere, I have since seen them for sale in local stores for much less. Two, more importantly, the ones I received arrived with what I can only describe as trimming errors on the slots. If you look closely at the slots in the pictures I posted, you can see rough and jagged edges. They don't particularly affect functionality, so I didn't bother returning or asking for refund, but the damage is ugly. The ones I've seen in stores do not have this defect.

my old melamine pasta server that i'd had for years suddenly snapped in two. oy! so i ordered this one and am very pleased. it is quite sturdy, fits nicely in the hand and the prongs are easily cleaned. excellent quality.
