About this item

  • Prevents pulling – The GoodBoy Head Halter is a comfortable and humane way to prevent your dog from pulling on the leash during walks and other situations that require control. The head halter fits around your dog’s head and nose (similar to a horse’s halter). It is not for use as a muzzle. This prevents choking and reduces your dog’s urge to pull. By using a headcollar like this one, you get maximum steering efficiency. Walking your dog becomes safer and more pleasant for both you and your dog.
  • Comfortable and safe – Unlike other headcollars, the GoodBoy Head Halter is designed with soft neoprene and padded for maximum comfort for your pet. It offers a safety strap that attaches to your dog’s regular collar at the back of the neck - no more dangling safety straps. It has durable nylon straps and strong stitching. Our design features additional reflective stitching to help keep dogs of all sizes safe.
  • Easily adjustable and secure fit – A quick release buckle and adjustable fit make this quality harness a secure solution to unwanted behavior with your pet’s safety in mind. It provides a metal clip under the chin to easily adjust the loop for the snout. Adjustable side straps (size 1 does not have adjustable side straps) and an adjustable neck strap make for a better and more secure fit. This ensures that the halter does not slide off easily and makes it easy to put on any dog.
  • Choose the right size – To ensure the best fit with our no-pull head halter it’s important to measure the snout and neck circumference at least twice, using the instructions pictured, and choose the smallest result for optimal fit. The sizing chart is in the third picture. The halters have adjustable neck straps, side straps and nosebands (size 1 does not have adjustable side straps). The halters do not fit short-snouted breeds like Boxers, Bulldogs and toy dogs like Chihuahuas.
  • Warranty – The 1-year warranty helps to find the best fit for your dog. It covers incorrect sizing and chew damage for your added peace of mind.

Just started using this for my 1.5 year old Malinois rescue. She's awful on the leash and very reactive, but using this has made an incredible difference! She instantly responded to the small corrections we make while using the head halter. It will take you dog getting used to it, but it's 100% worth it.She's roughly 45lbs and is fits perfectly, great value for the money, works as expected, and seems pretty safe. We latch our leash to the chin ring and her collar for a little extra security. If you're worried about your dog being injured, I'd recommend using a harness and a second leash for full control, and the head halter for corrections and leading.

Having used other brands, this one is the best. Took my Rotty for a walk as soon as I received it. Looks so comfortable on my girls face, side pieces stopped her flicking it off her nose when she was off leash. I highly recommend. Excellent product

I bought this hoping a size 3 would fit my 4yo German shepherd but the plastic part to tighten the snout is faulty and useless that it just doesn’t work. Great delivery but a shame that it came broken

I ordered this to try to get my husky puppy to stop pulling on walks. I specifically got this one because it has padding on the part that goes on the nose. I took it out of the box and attempted to work with my pup to try it out. Within a few minutes, the clasp that goes under the snout that holds the whole thing secure to the dogs face, broke. I'm not sure if it was broken prior to me removing it from the box, or of it was faulty, but I was disappointed that I couldn't even use it. I gave 3 stars because the product itself seems well made, with the exception of the plastic hardware, and the fact that I didn't have the opportunity to really try it didn't seem fair to knock it down to 1 or 2. It very well could work perfectly for others. I wanted to write a review though, to warn against the plastic parts. This could maybe work for less aggressive pullers, but I'd caution against the clasp. That said, the product does come with an instruction and training booklet that is easy to read and understand and the nose padding seems to be comfortable (but I'm not a dog, so what do I really know?). It also comes with a separate safety strap that is used to connect the head halter to your dog's collar.

Maizy is a 120 pound mastiff/boxer, and she pulls us over when walking on the leash when she gets excited. She also pulls at the end of the leash when she's on a walk, and doesn't listen to any commands. At least she used to be that way. We got the collar a while ago but just started using it two days ago. It worked as soon as we started using it. She can eat and drink with it on, and it's made of soft material that has padding. But for some reason, it does control her. She will NOT pull the leash if she has it on! She is a little nervous, but we followed the directions and used treats to get her used to it slowly. She lets us put it on easily and doesn't try to pull away. She just seems confused, but I believe she will be OK after she gets used to it. The one we got is a large. The cons to this are as follows:1) The clip to hold the collar to the correct size under the muzzle is very cheaply made. I can tell that if she DID try to pull, it could easily break. But she doesn't so far. Hoping that will continue. I can see why some people's reviews said to sew under the clip once it is at the right size to keep it from coming loose, since strong pulling might very well snap it. Maizy doesn't seem to need this precaution.2) The security strap that is supposed to hold it to a collar doesn't work well with a chain collar. We may get a cloth one, but we have been using the collar without using the security strap for now. We tried it at first, and also tried having two leashes, one on the collar and one on this. But she seems to be a totally different dog when this is on! So we don't seem to need it. I suspect that with a more stubborn dog, you would need to have a cloth or leather collar and attach it with the security strap. We call it "Spock's Brain," because we thought Maizy didn't have a brain, and now she seems to!"Brain and Brain, what is brain? It is controller, is it not?" Only true fans of the original Star Trek will get that.

Works great on walks for my Aussie Shepherd who doesn't understand the concept of no pull. Sturdy and comfortable.

I have tried other gentle leads. Some success, but product was too wimpy for my heavy puller. Tried a no pull harness. Nope! But this IS the solution.Pros: Padded muzzle area so it isn’t painful to the dogHighly reflective stitching for safe evening walksWell made and sturdy constructionA real bonus is the loop you use to attach the gentle lead to your dogs collar- extra peace of mind while your dog is getting used to the new gear!Fits well, and pretty adjustableInstructions are clearDog can be walking close to you, in a heel position if you wish, and no straining and pulling to keep control of dogCons:The only one I can come up with is that the lever to adjust the muzzle size can slide open with a heavy puller while dog is getting used to wearing the new gear. Simple solution is that after adjusting it for fit, I hand stitched it in place so the size is perfect and the muzzle area doesn’t become too loose.MAKE SURE YOUR DOG CAN OPEN HIS MOUTH AND PANT.Not doing this is like someone putting duct tape across your mouth and making you walk and only breathe out of your nose. Highly uncomfortable and dangerous for your dog!I am very very happy with this product. I was excited to get it and be able to walk my dog again! This allows me to walk at MY chosen pace and not my dogs. Just a well executed product!
