Why Your Dog Need Head Collar?

The dog halter gives you more control on walks and it will help teach the dog to walk politely when combined with training.

  • Dogs pulling on regular neck collars can injure themselves as the collar presses into the trachea and neck.
  • Dogs that pull may also be at greater risk of becoming aggressive to strangers or dogs that they meet on walks.

Head Collar for Dogs, No Pull Dog Collar, Soft Head Halter for Dog Training and Walking, Great for German Shepherd, Labrador, Aggressive Heavy Pullers

What IS A Head Halter?

Head halters are commonly used as an alternative to neck control collars. The head halter has a strap that encircles the snout, and where the nose goes the body follows. The headcollar makes control easier, requiring less physical effort, so you don’t end up battling with your pet when going for a walk.

  • No choking, no pain
  • Stops dog pulling on leash, allows gentle control
  • Allows dogs to eat and drink normally
  • Easily adjustable for custom fit
  • Quick-release buckles for easy on-and-off
  • Soft padding around the noseband protects your dog's skin.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Q1: How do head collars work?
  • Q2: First of all, head halters attached to the dog leashes and collar are tools designed to help you control your dog by guiding its head, just as halters and lead ropes are used to help control horses. An animal tends to go where its head goes. So, if the dog wants to pull on the leash and its head can’t move, it can’t pull you so well. If the dog wants to head in one direction and you want to go in another, gently (but not daintily) guide its head in the direction you want to lead the pet
  • Q2: Will this work for a 70lbs German Shepherd?
  • A2: This headcollar fits every long snout dog. Weight reference of the size chart does NOT directly correspond to your pet's breed or weight. Please MEASURE your pet's snout circumference and neck circumference and refer to our size guide for the best fit before ordering, rather than choosing a size based on experience.
  • Q3: How do I get my dog to feel comfortable wearing a head halter?
  • A3: This headcollar is padding, so it is soft and comfortable. The dog halter comes with the training guide. It is simple and convenient for you to train the dog. There are some tips below to help your dog get used to the halter: First, adjust and fit the neck strap and then take it off. Next, use treats as a lure to slip the nose strap over the nose and continue to distract the dog with the treats while attaching the neck strap. Then, use the leash, favored food, and plenty of praise to play with your dog while he gets accustomed to the head halter. By keeping your dog distracted, and using food rewards to mark the desirable response, many pets will adapt to the head halter by the end of the first training session.

This has changed our lives!!! We have a magnificent Belgian Malinois who has been untrainable to walk on a leash. As soon as we put this simply designed device on him, he immediately began walking gently by our side, rather than dragging us down the road while we kicked and screamed. This inexpensive purchase has made us fall even more in love with our boy because we can now enjoy taking him out! Thank you!!!

Measured my dogs snout and everything that needed to be measured, according to the measurements, I was to purchase a large! Well it’s not true to fit, my dog would need an extra large! This large is way too small! Don’t waste your money

This is a great halter. The ergonomics of it prevent the halter from pulling into your dog's eyes and the metal adjustment clip won't break like the plastic ones. I bought this and then four of my.freimxs bought it for their escape artist dogs

I’ve only had this harness a few months and we don’t over use it. Our dog is not a piper so the wear and tear is very light. The plastic clasp broke and now the harness is useless.

I’ve trained my Dogo on a gentle leader since she was 8 weeks old. She got used to wearing it and eventually out grew two of the older ones. I needed to find something that didn’t put too much thin pressure on her nasals on her snout because the thing gentle leaders seem to put so much constricting pressure on a big dog…Bought this and very satisfied since it does not put as much isolated pressure on my Dogo. She can breathe better and go for longer walks with it before she’s too tired and doesn’t seem out of breath anymore. Yay!

Well made and this really does work to keep your dog from pulling on the leash while walking. My Lab will wear out my shoulder fast on a walk with a regular collar. But she CANNOT pull on the leash when wearing this harness. It does take some patience on your part. Initially a stubborn dog will try and remove the harness. You just have to be MORE stubborn than your dog, and teach them that you won't keep walking unless they behave and wear the harness. If your dog is motivated to walk, eventually they will calm down and follow your lead.DO NOT let your dog walk in front of you. That signals to the dog that they are in charge. You must insist that the dog walks NEXT to you, not in front. YOU must be the boss on the walk, and YOU make the rules. With some patience on your part, you can do it.

This halti-style collar was the only one that fit my dog well and held up to rough wear. It’s lightweight but well-made. I’ve tried 6-7 other kinds and this has worked best for us.

I do not feel safe with my dog on any kind of non- welded ring on any kind of halter in order to control him. My dog is a large breed at 118#. I have had him bend non-wielded ring out enough to free himself. The main ring I’m concerned about is the one that can be linked to his regular collar. If he was to free himself from the head halter that ring or snap is to weak and small to control him with his regular collar. He would pull loose and be off to give chase to another dog.

This is a nicely made head collar. My puppy leads so much better now. There is an adjustment clip under the jaw to keep him from pulling it off.
