Great textbook. It has so much useful information for someone who’s just getting started in this line of work. It came in good quality and on time.

This book will be used in classes to teach students, who will probably not go to college, a trade that will benefit them for life.

Wealth of information, but this book is tailored for students, something a high school teacher would have students do homework assignments out of, it has test and reviews and such things in this book. When I opened the book for the first time, my mind immediately remembered high school. It is formatted and organized for teacher/student use, but if your an established wood man looking to learn about residential construction, it’s not that bad if you can learn to ignore this “ text book” style of book and focus on the subject areas at hand, because a lot of it is elementary stuff to an experienced wood man/woman. If your new to the trade, this book may be something good.Book itself is quality made, hardcover, glossy pages, will last.

although the book is prettier than the original, it is not better. in many ways it is more disjointed. I don't think it makes for a straight forward , simple to complex student reference that he or she will return to. safety and assessment segments distract from the chapter and verse of the subject material. the colour line diagrams seem to make learning the craft easier than 40 years ago.
