Our vinyl double pane glass slider to the patio has hundreds of small scratches from the dogs over the last 15+ years. I purchased this (along with the other particle size) and the wool pads. Tried a small spot with both grades and a DA polisher with 5 inch pad as well as a circular drill with the small wool felt pad. After a 20+ minutes. no real improvement. My guess is that it would take 40 hours to polish the thing.. not worth it. Seller was prompt and packaged well - but product can't perform miracles.

Finished paying a guy hundreds to service my fireplace. He worked on the glass for like 2 hours, and could not get it cleaned with his razor blade. I did a bit of research, found this, and had the glass looking like new in less than an hour. Amazing results!

The quality of the sanding pads are terrible. Take a look at the pictures. Second picture is the original scratch. They only include one of each grit. First picture is after using polishing kit. The sanding pads are such bad quality they wear out after 10mins of use. Was not able to finish polishing the scratches. Just ordered from another vendor set with more pads. Definitely not worth it. Not sure what you can use this kit for. They should have at least included 3 to 5pcs per grit so you can actually do something.

Product looks good but there are no instructions at all on how to use this. The various levels of grit on the pads are not clearly marked so you have no idea what you're using.

This polishing kit will not help with large areas of scratching. It took me about 30 minutes to do a 6 square inch area so don’t count on being able to polish a whole windshield like I did. The time commitment is not worth it. For smaller scratches the kit works well just know that you’ll have to commit a lot of time to polishing. Also be careful not to let the pad wobble as it can actually leave deeper scratches when the pad contacts at an angle. The advertising material shows angle grinders being used which would be ideal but sadly this is false advertising. At least here in the US no angle grinder comes with a shank in a size other than 5/8x11. Do not expect to use anything other than a drill which will be tedious but does work. If you have wiper scratches this is a valid option. Anything more and I would save your time and replace the windshield or pay a pro to do it.

These pads hold up pretty well. I spent about 5 hours to get my windshield 99% scratch free. This is a TON of small/medium scratches over the years that built up along with minor blade grooves that needed to be buffed out. The pad's surface area is small and allows you to really put some force against the windshield (which you need) to buff the glass down. I did this in 10 minute intervals (both your hand and drill will need a break after about 10 mins). Your drill will heat up quite a lot from use and needs to cool down before the next 10 minute session. After about 30 sessions I have a perfectly clear (no water spots) smooth windshield with about 99% of the scratches gone. I used 3 of the pads to get there. The pads themselves were fine it was the velcro adhesive that eventually gave out, not the felt pad itself. I currently have 2 left over. I missed one or two spots which can be taken care of with another 3 or 4 sessions. I ordered 3 more kits and will do all the windows on the car in the future.

I read all the reviews, mostly positive and then watched a dozen You Tube videos on how to polish scratches from glass. Brought my friend over who is used to detail cars and we polished some scratches, wax build up and rain-x off my car windows and windshield. This tool works great with the right polishing compound (Cerium Oxide) and patience. Do not stick this on a Dremel tool, it is too fast and lacks torque. Use an Orbital Buffer or a variable speed drill and work in a hashtag # pattern. It takes hours not minutes to properly polish glass scratches out. The old wax and rain-x came off after 6 passes, the light scratches took another 2 hours to get them perfect. Watch for developing too much heat and spray glass with water frequently to keep cool and keep the polishing compound wet.
