The order was placed correctly but instead of IC sockets the box was full of aluminum screw inserts. The lable for the IC sockets was placed over the lable for the inserts. Going back but ordering the correct item.Received a replacement for the mislabled 1st order and it's just as it should be. I went through each bin and I am happy to report that there are NO BENT PINS. Life should be good from here on out.

A nice tidy box selection of the most common IC DIL sockets. Compared to buying them individually for each of your projects, these kits offer a range of sockets at a very affordable price and quality, in a nice presentation box. I am very pleased with range of sizes provided so I recommend you give them a try.

The Glarks 122Pcs DIP IC Socket Assortment Kit provides a versatile selection of IC sockets with pin counts ranging from 6 to 40. Designed for 2.54mm pitch components, this kit is suitable for soldering applications in prototyping and circuit repair. The kit was tested with various ICs, including microcontrollers and logic chips, to evaluate fit and functionality.Pros:✅ Wide Range of Sizes: Includes 6, 8, 14, 16, 18, 24, 28, and 40-pin sockets, catering to diverse IC requirements.✅ Reliable Contact Points: Ensures secure connections with IC pins, minimizing risk of signal loss or intermittent connections.✅ Durable Material: Sturdy plastic housing and well-constructed metal pins withstand repeated soldering and insertion/removal cycles.✅ Well-Organized Packaging: Comes in a compartmentalized plastic box for easy size identification and storage.Cons:❌ Pin Thickness: Pins are slightly thinner than expected, requiring careful soldering to ensure a strong connection on some PCBs.❌ Limited Documentation: No guide or datasheet is included, which might be a minor drawback for beginners unfamiliar with IC socket types.Performance and Usability:In testing, the sockets provided a snug and reliable fit for DIP ICs. They were easy to solder onto PCBs without significant warping or misalignment. The variety of sizes proved useful for prototyping projects involving microcontrollers and other ICs, reducing the need to purchase additional sockets for different pin counts. However, care was required during soldering to ensure solid pin connections due to their slightly thinner gauge.Comparison:Compared to premium IC sockets, the Glarks kit offers comparable performance at a more affordable price point. While higher-end options may feature gold-plated contacts for enhanced conductivity, these sockets provide sufficient reliability for most DIY and moderate professional use.Who Is This For?:This kit is ideal for electronics enthusiasts, hobbyists, and repair technicians who frequently work with DIP ICs. It’s particularly suited for those looking for an affordable and versatile assortment for prototyping or small-scale production. Conclusion:The Glarks 122Pcs DIP IC Socket Kit is a reliable and cost-effective choice for anyone working with DIP ICs. Its wide variety of sizes and solid construction make it a practical addition to any electronics toolkit, despite minor pin thickness concerns.

Great addition to my Electronics Laboratory Bench for when I make a permanent version of a PCB board. Plus it adds character to my circuit.😀

Die Sockets sind genau wie beschrieben und passen problemlos für Standard-DIP-ICs (555, 7400 etc.).

These sockets are meant to be soldered into through-hole circuit boards, and for that purpose they are adequate. If you casually plug an IC into a socket that has not been soldered in, when you remove it you might find several of the pins remain (they have low retention force). This won't happen once the pins are soldered in correctly. The pins can be replaced, with some amount of care. The pins are "dual-wipe", meaning there are two metal surfaces that contact the wide portion of the pins. The 24 and 28 pins ones are only 0.3" wide, not 0.6". I did find I could saw the socket down the middle, and mount the two rows 0.6" apart, would work fine with some care to check the alignment and angle before soldering. The sockets could also be stacked end-to-end, so if you run out of 16-pin sockets, two 8-pin sockets could be used. Same where you might want a 20-pin socket, a 14-pin and a 6-pin socket could be utilized. "Glarks" does sound like a Don Martin sound effect, however.

I expected the 24-pin (and up) to be the wide 0.6" size, but the 24 and 28 are narrow 0.3". Only the 40-pin are 0.6". Otherwise they're fine, good value for the money.EDIT. I'm editing my review to ask the sellers of this kit to PLEASE offer a version that has wide, 0.6 inch versions of the 24-pin and 28-pin sockets.

These sockets are great for mounting on a PCB. The pins are thin metal but long enough to solder and sockets hold the IC's well. Look elsewhere if you intend to breadboard or wirewrap. The package arrived quickly in a solid plastic box. There were only a few with bent pins but those were simple to straighten again. Overall, a good value given the variety of sizes and they serve my immediate need.

I'm not sure how in the world the top review had bent and missing pins: the picture shows a hard case and that's exactly how mine arrived. I ran through the whole box in case and all the pins were perfectly straight and present.Only feedback I would give is it would be nice if the tops were slightly flanged/curved outward so that IC's are guided straight in without adjustment: almost all IC's I've bought have slightly-splayed legs that you have to bend back inwards in order to get them to seat in these holders. I'm not docking a star for that one because I don't consider that this manufacturer's fault specifically, but if they wanted to make a more compatible product for the current market, I think it would be good change.

Great selection of IC sockets. The 6 pin and 8 pin ones were quite handy for making custom sizes (ATTiny2313, etc.). ICs fit snuggly into the sockets. I did notice that you should take care not to heat the pins up too much as they can deform the socket pin slightly making the IC pin fit looser than normal, however this is very easily avoided by lowering your iron's heat.
