Personally I don't know if I would say this is for absolute beginners. I think it helps if you already have a little experience with crochet. I've been making other kits and following patterns for amigurumi for a little over a year now and was able to easily make this koala. The yarn itself is nice to work with, and the kit includes everything you need to finish the project. The addition of the pipe cleaner leaves is really cute. My daughter is obsessed with koalas and she has had so much fun playing the finished character.

Cute and good for beginners. Any stitch that you don’t understand can easily be figured out with google.

Very disappointing to not be able to just read a pattern, instead of listening to a person drone on and on about instructions. The pronunciation of words and the slowness of the video is disappointing. I got through the egg, but instructions were frustrating. The mispronounced words etc. I think in the description it should say you can only watch it by scanning the code. What is wrong with having written directions. I am stuck with the project now because I can not contact the company and I have used some of the yarn. I bought another kit from them and I will not even begin to attempt it

I loved this kit!! I definitely wouldn’t say it’s 100% beginner friendly, maybe 80%. The sewing of the belly and markings was definitely the hardest. But the fun of making it and the cuteness of the two rays makes up for any difficulties I had!!

Gave this to my girlfriend as a Christmas present and she's been working through the YouTube videos tutorials that comes with it. Very enjoyable and she seems to love it!
