This applies very nicely with a foam roller. No roller marks when used as per the instructions on the diy videos on the Gianni website and dries with a matte finish. I plan to coat with a top coat.

So glad this was available. I bought 2 counter top kits and decided to do the large backsplash also. Needed an extra can of primer.

I wanted my countertops plain black so I skipped step 2 and purchased steps 1 and 3. I wish I had just purchased step 1. My countertops looked amazing until I added the base coat. The base coat left it looking milky and bubbly. If you want plain black countertops then I recommend only using step 1! It left my countertops looking smooth and glossy! 10/10 recommend this primer!

We bought a house that had so much granite in the kitchen but felt badly to take off really good granite. We did the island with an epoxy kit from another company and it is awesome how it came out with different colors. We didn't want to epoxy again as honestly the fumes and the mess was not good especially when one section of the countertop is in levels like the photo as it would drip and we would have to do the process twice (with cats it was not fun to put them in a different room for a week while it cured) I saw this product and thought hmmmm I would honestly be happier if the rest of the kitchen (there's an entire backside that I didn't include photos) was a solid black vs this granite look. I bought these individually - primer, black paint and top coat- as we used $2 acrylic paints from the store to do the rest of the design (and it does help my husband can paint) and I asked him to make it like a river of blue as we have the navy and emerald steel appliances from a major brand and there's a lot of blue and green in our island we epoxy. I also showed him another design for the smaller upstairs countertop that was a laminate that was peeling on the sides. For that one to add some copper and gold and a red color. These are the results and it's lasted so far with cleaning and using it. We don't baby it but we don't put any hot items on it. We use a natural cleaner (no bleach or harsh chemicals) and it's lasted well so far. It didn't cost much and our counterops look great. I also didn't feel badly for tearing out granite that honestly was in great condition. I went on a rabbit hole search of can you paint granite to yes you can!! It costs less than $100 to transform 2 rooms countetops in our home.

I have a 30-year-old vanity that is made of solid wood with a thick granite top. It would be nearly impossible to get out of my small bathroom without removing the door and the door frame. So, I took it upon myself to redo it. The granite top was a huge worry because the granite store said that it would never take paint. They said that it would have to be rehoned and polished--about $500 because it was so pitted and stained.I decided to try this "just to see." I sanded my granite top (don't flinch!) and then cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and then water. I used a brush around the edges and a small roller to do the top. Light even application is the key. Let it dry and applied two coats 8 hours apart. The result was a fantastic deep black with almost purplish metallic undertones. I liked it so much that I decided to skip the fake granite lines and patterns, instead of just putting on the clear topcoat. The result is fantastic!I've had it on for about a month with no problems at all. Totally worth the time and effort. Saved hundreds of dollars and the results are fabulaous. Even if I have to redo it in a few years, it was painless enough that I don't mind. The small can was enough to do 2 coats and I still have more than 1/2 left.Hope you found this review helpful!

I am doing a total kitchen remodel, on a pretty tight budget. This product was a lifesaver! When reading through the glowing reviews compared to other products intended to "restore" or "transform" your countertops (*cough* Rustoleum *cough*)- you read those reviews and 98% are horrible. If you want black, textured, beautiful countertops- this is the way to repaint them, right here.I, however, was not interested in a granite look; I just wanted sleek, black countertops instead of the faux-granite, "ground-beef pink" color that was there before. I used step one with a roller and brush combination, skipped step two, and sealed it with two coats of the clear coat step 3. It came out awesome, and I could not possibly be happier! I've included a pic of the results I've achieved using this wonderful product. It really is fool proof. If you do your prep work right, and clean & lightly sand the surface, you cannot go wrong with this awesome product!
