If you want these because they're kinda cute and you don't need them for heavy duty use, these are fine. But I would NOT trust these for diving. The carabiners, line, jump rings, etc is way too weak for any remotely heavy duty use. I'm not totally sure I'd trust these with my keys in regular conditions.Still giving them a couple stars because the retracting function is smooth and they're a decent value for what's probably okay for very VERY light use.

I got these for diving at the local aquarium I volunteer at, and so I'm not super concerned about stuff floating away in the surf, but I want to make sure things are easily retrieved. These tethers are good enough for that, but I would not rely on them for true heavy duty use out in the ocean. These are basically badge tethers with a scuba flag logo (which is sideways!), nothing really special.
