The Gerber Gear Freescape Camp Saw features an innovative design that allows the saw to fold up flat while remaining completely assembled and without threat of lost parts. It utilizes 4 pivot points to effectively cut larger diameter wood while using the full length of the blade. When folded up, the blade is protected and can be stowed safely in a gear kit or camp bin.

Its bright green accents along the black rubber surface make it easy to spot in the shuffle of camp gear. The grippy rubber Freescape textured handle stays firmly in the hand no matter the conditions. Replace the saw’s standard 12” blade easily if required.

Lightweight and super easy to use. Was not sure this would work for my son with his troop activities but it is perfect sharpness and size for him to use. Compact able to fit in his backpack and the durability will be perfect for cutting up firewood for their camping.

Come da descrizione, quando si apre la sega si percepisce un ottimo grip nell' impugnatura e solidità nell'insieme. Lama da paura che taglia con facilità tronchi di grosse dimensioni, provata su alberi con tronco di circa 20 cm di diametro. Richiusa sta comodamente in uno zainetto. Ottimo

The aggressive blade definitely cuts very fast. However the hook that holds the blade locked or tight lost it's durability very fast and the frame it self cracked and broke within first day of trying to cut tree branches. The only plus is that it folds nicely and compact. Other than that its a garbage product.

I like the saw and it works great. Only thing I would change about it would be a better way to store extra blades or at least come with a case/bag to store it in a pack.

Big fan of the design of this saw. It literally takes seconds to set up. The saw is very sturdy and as far as I believe, any standard 12" saw blade can be used with the frame (although I haven't found the need to replace the factory blade yet). It folds up into a very compact uniform unit that fits easily into all of my bags. I'm a big fan of the Japanese brand Silky Saws Pocketboy series of folding hand saws and it's very difficult to say which saw I prefer. I actually just pack both when I head outdoors since they really don't take up much space or weight imo, however, the Gerber Freescape is much heavier than the Silky Saw pocketboy if weight is a big issue for say UL packers for example. I've cut through about 6-inch diameter wood (hard and soft) with little resistance but I'm not sure if I'd want to saw anything much larger than that. For larger diameter wood I'd recommend something like the Silky Bigboy I'll be adding this to my arsenal very soon. It never ends!

Je viens de la recevoir, je ne l'ai pas testée.Elle a l'air extrêmement solide, le mécanisme est très bien conçu, son fonctionnement est très intuitif.Pliée, elle prend très peu d'espace bien qu'elle soit plutôt lourde (presque 3kg).Étant donné sa "petite" taille, elle se glisse facilement n'importe où dans un sac, pas besoin de la mettre dans une sacoche à part ou de l'accrocher à l'extérieur. Les sections seront certes plus petites qu'avec une scie cadre ou une scie pliante 50cm (la lame en fait 30) mais je n'ai pas besoin de couper de troncs de toute façon.Les dents de la lame m'inspirent confiance, je n'ai jamais été déçu de la dentelure "américaine". J'apprécie aussi qu'elle soit livrée avec un sache en plastique pour éviter de se blesser et d'abîmer le sac.Pour le prix auquel je l'ai payée (35€ livraison gratuite) je ne peux que la recommander. J'ai hâte de l'essayer...![après un mois]Excellent produit.Bien plus efficace qu'une banale scie de jardin, voire de scies pliantes de camping et tout aussi compacte que ces dernières.Pas autant qu'une scie cadre ou scie à bûches (quoique ?), en revanche on peut l'emporter beaucoup plus facilement.J'ai oublié de le préciser, mais elle accepte les lames standard d'une trentaine de centimètres : celle d'origine, une Gerber (même fabriquant que Fiskars) est bonne de toute façon, mais qui en veut une encore meilleure ou tout simplement 'changer la dentition' peut le faire sans avoir besoin d'en commander une Gerber.
