I'm a novice with a powered saw. This was easy to set up and easy to cut with. I was not intimidated or scared because of included safety features. It's extremely lightweight and portable. It has sufficient power for my small jobs, so far. Happy with my purchase!

I have owned this saw for about a year half and have only used it maybe 8-10 times and it just stops working. So I call Genesis and I find out the only way they will cover it is if I pay for all the shipping and handling charges. The shipping costs alone comes to almost $20 dollars so now this went from a $52 saw to a $72 saw. What good does genesis warranty do if the consumer has to keep putting money into a used tool? Your better off to just buy from your local Walmart or hardware store even if they are $15 higher at least then you can swap out same day or get refunded with no hassle.

This is so much easier for me to use rather than my large skill saw. It may not be large enough for some people but sure works for me. I had already used it and it works great. Someone warned me that some of these have the safety button in a bad place and hard to get to. Not this one!! I the safety is right on top of the power button. I am a small female and I have no problem hitting the safety and the power button pretty much about the same time. Great purchase!!!

I bought this to cut expansion joints in my concrete garage floor. I had done some patching and wanted to restore the original cuts in the concrete in between the 10 x 10 foot concrete slabs. This saw exceeded my expectations and made quick work of sawing 1/4 inch channels into the very hard concrete. I was very pleased with how well this tool functioned. Very good price for a powerful and very functional tool like this.

This is an amazing saw! Right now in the process of clearing out storage and building storage shelves. But hardly have any room to build because of everything in the way. Im soon going to build a workbench with a miter saw and where my table saw will have the proper set up when i clear the next bit, but i needed a solution for now. My jigsaw is a pain and a half and my tablesaw cant cut drywall and id prefer to not use on 2x4x8s or 1x12x8s if i dont have to for fear of kickback. This $40 saw is the perfect solution and one of my best purchases. Great for quick cuts on 2x4s in small spaces where a 7 ½ or anything larger wont work! Works perfect on drywall and soft woods and pine boards. Havent tried on any hardwoods yet, but i doubt it'd run into any trouble! Ive experineced no noticable drop in rpm when the boards pinch, no kickback. With quick, yet precise and controlled, cuts this tool will easily become a permanent part of your arsenal!

* UpdateGenesis finally replied, late but during the COVID pandemic I guess everyone is on a skeleton crew nationwide. But they told me to return it and they would repair it or replace it.I sent it back on July 28 and emailed them with the tracking number.I got a brand new one back in the mail on August 3! Just 4 business days later! They literally shipped a new one to me the minute they got the old one back.So I have to give credit where it's due, I thought that was pretty impressive. Because of that, I bumped them up from 2 stars to 3 stars.* Original reviewI purchased this in November 2019, and I used it to cut about 20 1x2 furring strips and 1x6 non-treated lumber. It would cut the furring strips fine, but when cutting the longer wood it would sometimes just stop cutting! I would have to back up, start it up again, and then cut a little further.I pulled it out again June 2020, and found that the trigger would no longer compress! If I turn it over and move the trigger back and forth then the blade will come on in short 1-2 second bursts, but when I go back to normal and try to cut the blade won't stay on. You can feel that the trigger compresses about 1/16th of an inch instead of all the way.It's supposed to be under warranty so I emailed Genesis several days ago, but no reply yet.I wish I'd just gotten a better brand, but I was trying to save money :-(

Great little saw, cuts cleanly, lightweight and easy to use BUT beware of the safety switch/trigger. It is hard to release the switch and hold onto the saw at the same time because of the power switch length. See the product photos to see what I mean. I will keep it but it concerned me when i used it for the first time. Still a nice little saw for the price.

Muy fácil de usar, tiene buen tamaño pero solo sirve con tablas o tableros delgados. Tiene bastante potencia, la he utilizado con pino y parota y en ambos casos funciono muy bien, dejando un corte limpio.

El producto es fantástico una vez que te acostumbras al peso y a maniobrar. El láser es muy básico pero cumple su función yo lo sigo a una muy corta distancia. No recomiendo que lo tomes como guía mas allá de 10 cm. También compre la guía para piezas largas y todo se complementa perfectamente. El único pero que le encuentro es la acumulación de aserrín en el mecanismo, probablemente se deba a que no utilizo el sistema de conexión a aspiradora. pero mi taller es minúsculo y me resultaría imposible trabajar con mangueras conectadas. Y digo lo anterior porque trabajo muchísimo con pino de 3/4 y después de varios corte el mecanismo de liberación de la sierra se atasca un poco y tengo que soplar esa parte para poder seguir utilizándola. Por otra parte la he trabajado por mas de media hora sin descanso y aun cuando se calienta un poco no ha fallado y cumple al 100% con su función. Respeto las opiniones de otros pero para mi fue una gran adquisición y la marca génesis es una gran sorpresa no la conocía pero ahora estoy comprando mucho sus productos, son muy competitivos en cuanto a precio y la calidad es muy recomendable.
