I ordered and received one of the 1/2" Brass Grommet kits (item number 71264). The item was received on 09/08/23. I used the kit for a project on 09/09/23 and discovered that three (3) of the 12 grommet washers were missing from the package. Nine of the 12 grommets I needed for the project have already been installed, so I can't return the original order.I sent a product support request on 09/09/23 to the manufacturer for replacement of the three (3) missing 1/2" Brass Grommet washers so I can complete my project. Please note that the kit itself worked well for its intended use, hence the high marks for use, installation, and value. Depending on the response I receive from the manufacturer, I will update the overall rating if the requested replacement parts are received.UPDATE: I received a replacement shipment for the three missing grommet washers on 09/18/23. Great customer service, and I've changed the overall rating to five stars.

Use a 16 oz. steel hammer, not a wooden mallet or plastic hammer as per the instructions. They'll just bounce. Work on the heaviest flat surface you can find. Be careful opening the package. It is bullet proof. Took me longer to get it open than to put two grommets in my tarp. Using a mat knife on the paper backing might be a good idea. Also, open it on top of a box as everything will probably go flying. Instructions are on the paper backing but are not very clear. There is also a very tiny folded instruction sheet inside which is better, but is easy to miss. It reminded me of the Bazooka Joe comics inside Bazooka Bubble Gum from many years ago. High Quality through out. Happy I bought it.

I ordered the 1/2" took kit with 12 grommets and installation tools, as well as a 12 piece refill set. I have never worked cutting/setting grommets prior to using this set. I had a tarp that needed repairs. Within 35 minutes of opening up the packages I had 17 new holes cut (triple roll on the edge of the tarp), and all 17 grommets installed. The tool for making holes worked perfectly, and is not too short. The whole punch is 1-1/2" tall, my thumb is 1" wide at the first knuckle, never once did it seem like the punch was too short. The wooden block, while not oversized, worked flawlessly and never broke (as mentioned in some of the reviews. After initially opening the package I thought I was short a couple of pieces, after further inspection I realized sometime the top pieces had slid onto the lower (male) part and I easily separated them. Additionally some of the top parts were cupped together. As soon as I separated all of the pieces and counted I had exactly 12/ea of both the top and bottom parts from the 2 packs. There were no missing pieces. Every one of the 17 grommets went together on the first try perfectly. They were not stubborn, it just took light taps with a 3# sledged to get them to seat perfectly. I believe the reason it worked so flawlessly for me is I was working on smooth concrete (garage floor) with no wood under the lower part, as a result I was able to use controlled taps until the grommet rolled and seated. I highly recommend this product. All that was required for a great experience was the right tools, the right surface to set them, and a gentle touch.

I wanted to add a grommet to my apron I sewed, but didn't want to spend a ton of money on something I'll use once in a while. This thing works great, and the grommets came out really nice (I may have over hammered one slightly, but only I can tell)At first I set myself up at the dining table, next to where I normally do my sewing, thinking I could give it a few taps and be done with it. I just made a ton of noise with very little to show for it. You need to really hammer these things and it isn't quiet, so just be aware that your neighbors might not appreciate it if you are trying to install grommets at unusual times. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. Literally hitting things with hammers. I haven't had any issues with rust or anything like that, it's been a couple weeks since I installed than and I've only washed my apron a couple times, but they don't give me any reason to believe they won't last. They appear to be made entirely of brass and not just brass plated like some of the cheaper ones.

I got the 1/2" grommet kit - it does what it is supposed to, but the quality is so-so. Since I paid $7.29 for it I really can't fault it though, and if you want a basic, cheap grommet kit I recommend it. Just be aware that this is not a high quality set, so if esthetics are important you'll want something else. The good: it works and it is very cheap. The bad: the grommets are made of cheap metal and don't peen over nicely, they buckle a little bit. I question whether they really are brass, I suspect that they're aluminum with a gold finish. The hole punch is not very sharp and you really have to hit it hard to make it cut. The fact that the hole punch is too short to use and has to be used with the grommet tool as extension is not super practical, you'd want a better hole punch if you do this a lot.The kit comes with the following parts:- The grommet tool - this is used for the top part of the grommet, with the anvil under it. This tool is fine. This also duplicates as the extension for the hole punch.- A hole punch. The punch is very short (kind of too short to use on its own), but the grommet tool can be used as an extension for it. It's not a very good hole punch - it's not very sharp so you really have to hammer on it hard. I did not try to sharpen it since I only had a few holes to make.- The anvil to put under the grommet. This tool is fine.- A minuscule wood block. This is a total joke and I threw it into the trash right away, you'll want something bigger.- The grommets. They do the job but are not made from good metal - they don't peen over nicely. I think they may be aluminum with a brass finish, not real brass.

En general bien, llego a tiempo, solo que incompleto, falto uno de los ojillos, el paquete venia pegado con diurex, lo importante es que el dado llego bien y funciona a la perfeccion.
