NOT an ACDelco, it is a Nidec.I ordered this for a Cadillac Fleetwood. The three screws are 9mm and they are not double threaded. The OEM screws are 10mm and double threaded. I ended up using the old screws. I do not know why they label the box ACDelco, but the product inside is a Nidec. Other than that it did fit very well.

I ordered this for a 1987 Corvette. It bolts into the support, but it does not fit the original fan on this car. As described previously by another customer, this motor is NOT ACDelco... it is Nidec #24017753. It has a raised extrusion that prevents the OEM factory fan from fitting onto the hub. I could not use it. AMAZON has NOT corrected their information on this fan motor. I had to pay a restocking fee to return it. Bad experience. They need to get their act together on this one. It has been suggested that in order to use this fan motor on a 1987 Corvette, one also has to purchase ACDelco fan #15-8476.... but the picture of that fan looks identical to the fan on my car and I don't want to take a chance ordering another $50 part that may not fit. It seems like a heavy duty motor, but I gave it a bad rating because it did not fit and it cost me money to return it. That left a bad taste in my mouth for both AMAZON and ACDelco.

AC Delco on the box but Nidec # 24017753 on the inside. This motor would not fit the radiator cooling fan on my 1988 Grand Prix. Amazon promptly shipped a 2nd unit, exactly the same as the first. Amazon has the Nidec listed with a good photo of the shaft which has a collar at the base. Some brands, like VDO, ship with a removable thick washer which you don't have to use. However, the Nidec "collar" is machined and cannot be removed. I feel that it is a high quality motor since it weighs 13.5 oz more than the VDO which I installed in May. However, the VDO was not keeping my engine cool as temperature would be 200 degrees around Atlanta on a hot day. My final solution was to drill out the center of my OEM fan from less than 3/8" to 3/4" in about 8-9 steps to be sure to keep the hole in the center. If you look at the photo of the Nidec, the OEM fan fits the threaded part of the shaft but will not fit over the "collar" at the bottom of the shaft. This prevents the 8 fingers on the fan from going into the 8 slots in the wheel at the bottom of the motor shaft. I also added a washer and a lockwasher because the top of the Nidec collar was lower than the edge of the enlarged fan hole. Both this listing and the Nidec listing claim compatibility with my 1988 Pontiac Grand Prix. AC Delco told me that the 15-8498 is the right fan motor for the VIN of my Grand Prix. If you read one of the other reviews, I am not the first to experience and report this problem. Amazon said they would make this item unavailable until they have the problem solved. Today is Sept 3, 2014 so if you are reading this anywhere close to Sept 3, the problem most likely has not been resolved. As of Sept 3, Amazon has a "Product under review" note on the listing and is not accepting additional orders until resolved.

I had no model numbers to go by but this was a near perfect fit for the jury rigged fan on our 1960s fork lift. The hub was the same except for a raised center of about 1/8". I drilled the plastic blade to accomodate and it worked perfectly.

Just what I needed. I would rather use factory *AC Delco* when available. The price was right and shipping was a snap. I am aware that AC Delco is a tad more expensive than after-market; however, in this case, the item is a direct fit. There was an aftermarket which was $20.00 cheaper, but I felt since it was something important, to stay with AC Delco. The AC Delco and the aftermarket both had the same 12-month guarantee.
