Bought this because I needed a smaller torque wrench. Worked perfectly doing an oil change on my 2019 Tacoma. Easy to set and use. Another great Gearwrench tool.

I am a Proto torque wrench loyalist due to their proven reliability and ability to hold calibration year over year. I've seen them in industry and know they are excellent, but they are pretty expensive and I rarely have a need to go over 150 ft lbs with the work I do. I was going to kick off a job and I knew I needed to torque something to about 165 ft lbs, but couldn't justify the high cost of a Proto for a single use so I went for this Gearwrench for less than a benjamin and got the job done.Overall, I'm happy so far. It feels well made and the ratchet mechanism is nice but the head is pretty thick. If I were a professional, I might opt for a higher end brand offering a slimmer head or maybe some flex but this was more than sufficient for my need. The wrench came with a calibration certificate which I will assume is accurate. Gearwrench is reputable and stands behind their products, unlike a lot of random brands available here.

For the money I will pay this all day long. I love gear wrench, great quality, very durable and long lasting. I bought this 1/2in Dr. specifically to torque down Lugnuts and I was wanting something that went up to 250 foot pounds. I highly recommend buying this over any non-namebrand. It’s not too expensive. I will be purchasing a 3/8th Dr. as well.

This torque wrench feels high quality. Torque setting manual ‘Click’ matches within calibration specifications to my electronic digital torque adapter.I used it to torque lug nuts on my snow tires. I am pleased with the purchase.

I was compelled to write this review because this torque wrench is so nice.I'm 'old school' and wanted a 150lb torque wrench that was 21" long, like my old Craftsman. All other wrenches I looked at were 18" long.18" works, but definitely not as easy to use.I think this is a cost saving feature these days. Not only is this wrench 21" long, but it is beautifully built.Obviously high quality.Reasonably priced between the cheaper lines and the very expensive American made products.(What can possibly be worth paying $250 or more for a torque wrench? How nice can one get?)This thing is so nice, I want to show it to someone who will appreciate it.Buy this wrench - you won't be disappointed.

Easy to set, fits in hand perfect and is compact enough to use in smaller spaces.I've been upgrading my tool box to Gearwrench over the past few years and so far I've been very pleased with their performance.

The first one I purchased looked like it had been dropped. The metal cap on the bottom was damaged badly. I had a replacement sent out and the chrome on the replacement is flaking off. Usually GearWrench has great quality products, not sure what is happening here. Maybe the first one was used then returned, or maybe this was just a bad batch??? The second one should have definitely not passed QC.I am tempted to try a third time, but I don't know. I don't want Amazon to flag me for too many returns.

There are cheaper torque wrenches, and more expensive. I got this for peace of mind to trust the tool. It does have good positive click, and accurate per my hillbilly test:A 3/8 bolt has typical torque value of 15 ft lb (180 inch / lb) not lubricated.I used a trusted CDI torque wrench (made by Snap On) at lower end of its 100-750 inch lb range and torqued to 150 inch lb.I used the Gear Wrench to torque at same and the fastener did not move. I set this Gear Wrench to 160 inch lb and it moved the nut slightly then clicked. I went back and forth, each wrench confirming the other as I worked up to 200 inch lb.Although I had a good 3/8 drive 100-750 inch lb torque wrench, I wanted this 30-250 inch lb wrench for smaller fasteners and so each wrench could operate closer to the sweet spot mid-range rather than at lowest setting on my other torque wrenches. I can recommend this 30-250 inch lb one, the CDI 100-750 inch lb, and for the bigger stuff like lug nuts I trust the more affordable TEKTON 1/2 Inch Drive Click Torque Wrench (10-150 ft.-lb.) because I am not so concerned about stripping out a sensitive fastener in an aluminum motorcycle engine. It is more for lug nuts and a motorcycle axle fastener.

Tool works grate and has a very good mechanical feel and finish. I bought this to torque axel shaft retainers, and other high torque bolts on my truck that I work on seldom. I needed the 1/2" drive for the deep well sockets that I use on my impact gun. Very easy to adjust and locks positively in place. I like the engraved numbers as I have other torque wrenches that have stenciled in numbers and when cleaning the tool they have faded away. It is very well made and the tear drop head makes it easier to access small places. Also the direction of the ratchet is done by a lever cam which is much better, IMO, than a rotary cam which allows you to grip the back of the ratchet head and torque with control. Great tool and I would recommend this to too anyone looking for a quality tool that will be used occasionally, and accurate enough to satisfy most all automotive needs for the average mechanic. It comes with a great carry case too!
