I bought a Kenmore 6,000 BTU unit 15 years ago and it worked great!I bought this GE and was shocked when I saw it is a good 20% smaller and a full 50% lighter than the Kenmore.I can carry it with one arm!Set up is easy as can be. Blows ice cold. Will cool down a 12x12 or 12x15 room nicely.Very pleased with this unit.Absolutely recommend.5 Stars.

We are still in cool enough temperatures here that we don't need a window unit quite yet, so we hooked this up in the garage to give it a go instead of prepping a window in the house.It immediately powered on and started cooling the area. It was a bit louder than expected but certainly not bothersome. Love the fact that it comes with a remote since we plan on using this in our upstairs master bedroom here as soon as the weather calls for it.This is just a lil guy at 6,000 BTU best suited for small to medium rooms. It won't cool as effectively if you attempt to use it in a larger area.

I have an old house and the central AC doesn’t work very well because of the old ductwork. I ordered the GE AC for the small bedroom that had a loud window AC. The GE AC has everything that’s needed to start. The installation is quick and easy. It cools down the bedroom quickly without the super loud noise. The remote control is very convenient so I don’t have to get up to adjust the AC. I will see how well it works when summer comes. I might order another one for my guest bedroom.

My small bedroom is about 200 square feet. I can clearly feel the temperature drop in less than 10 minutes after turning it on. It is really comfortable to use in summer. The adjustable fan and cooling settings are also very practical. You can adjust the wind speed and temperature according to your needs. When you sleep at night, turn on the low gear, which is quiet and not too cold. The installation process is much simpler than I thought. The included installation kit is very complete. I followed the instructions step by step. It took me less than an hour to get it done by myself, and no additional tools were required.

This is a great little air conditioner. At 6k BTU it is perfect for a smaller room or milder climates. Our summers in Oregon are pretty mild so a smaller unit is welcome. So happy I decided to get this small GE air conditioner, it works great! I ordered this to use for my guest bedroom which gets hotter than any other room in the house. I wanted a new ac for it, but was looking for a small one since the room is small. This ac is perfect for it, and gets the job done. My husband set it up, says it was the easiest and quickest ac he has ever installed. It helped that it was small and didn't weight a ton. It instantly cooled down the room and has kept it at a nice, comfortable temperature the whole time. Now when we have guests over they can sleep much better. Before we just had a fan in there, but this ac has made all the difference. It blows ice cold and isn't too loud. It even comes with a remote if you don't feel like getting out of bed. Overall we're very pleased with it and would recommend it for small spaces.

I ordered this air conditioner for summer use, and it was ready to go right out of the box—just needed to be installed in a window. The user manual is clear and easy to follow, and the only assembly required was inserting batteries into the remote control. The remote has a range of about 20 feet, which I found to be accurate.The unit offers a temperature range from 64 to 86 degrees and automatically shuts off once the desired temperature is reached. There a few different cooling modes and it can be set with a delayed start. One downside was that a few of the outside coils arrived slightly dented, but this didn’t affect the unit’s functionality, so I didn’t think returning it was necessary. Also, while the listing states it weighs 4 pounds, it’s actually closer to 40.Overall, I’d recommend this air conditioner for cooling a smaller room.
