It is that time of year where we are all gearing up for summer. I decided it was time to replace my old window AC unit with a newer more energy efficient model and I am glad I found this GE Unit. GE produces great energy saving appliances and this AC is no different. It has a much better energy rating than my previous AC. I tested it out and I noticed it also runs much quieter to the point that I hardly hear it at all besides the fan blowing air. It has easy to use controls on the front of the AC to cycle temperature modes, economy mode, etc.. I think this is the perfect size unit to keep a bedroom comfortable during the summer heat!

I got this GE 5,000 BTU window air conditioner because my apartment has a wall unit in the living room, which works fine during the day, but my bedroom gets way too hot at night since I sleep with the door closed. I’ve been debating between a portable AC or a window unit, and this one seemed like the best choice for my space.Installation was straightforward. It comes with an EZ Mount installation kit, and while it’s not overly complicated, you’ll probably want two people to install it just to make things easier. Once it was in, it cooled my small bedroom quickly, which is exactly what I needed.The fan is a bit loud, but that’s to be expected with most window units. It’s not unbearable, and I actually don’t mind the white noise while I sleep. The digital controls make it easy to adjust the settings, and having three cooling modes and three fan speeds gives a good amount of flexibility.One thing to note is that this unit is best for small rooms (about 150 sq. ft.). If you’re looking to cool a larger space, you’d probably need something with a higher BTU rating. Also, it’s not Energy Star certified, so it might not be the most energy-efficient option in the long run.Overall, this works well for my needs. It’s a good option for a small bedroom, and I’m happy that I finally have a way to keep cool at night.

The GE Window Air Conditioner Unit comes with everything that’s needed to start. The installation is quick and easy. My husband installed all the other window ACs in my home and he finds this one very easy to install partly because it is small. The AC cools the room very quickly. It has the same amount of noises as my other new ACs. The old ones are much louder. It is winter here so we only test the effectiveness of 5he AC. We shall see how well it lasts when summer comes.
