Works like it should. Unfortunately I’ve had to buy 4 of them so far because I keep breaking the clip part

I got this belt clip for my Garmin handheld GPS device so that I would not always have to carry it. I clip it to a pocket rather than my belt, and it functions as I had hoped. The GPS device can be removed from the clip by pushing a level and pulling it out, leaving the clip itself still attached to my pocket. The swivel function I do not find particularly useful. Even if I could swivel it upwards, it is way too low to be able to see the screen without bending over. It is better to just pull it out of the clip to view where you are on a trail.

Ideal way to carry your Garmin. Solid - have no concerns about losing the device from my belt. Easy to clip off the handheld from the belt clip and snap it back in afterwards.

I've had Garmins for years that used this kind of belt clip (it was originally designed by Nokia for their mobile phones if you are old enough to remember them) and I like it much better than the carabiner clip the GPSMap 66i comes with. It is easier to access the GPS unit one-handed and you can clip it to the front of your belt for easy access. Some people have complained the clip can fall apart if you're not careful. That's been a problem with this clip for years. All I do is run a bead of epoxy around the joint where the two halves come together (when I first get it, before it comes apart!) and I haven't had any problem.

I bought this for my Garmin eTrex 30x GPS tracker and it works great. The clip slips on the back of the tracker and snaps into place with a strong click. It is very secure to the tracker and I don't have any fears that it will detach. The belt clip part is very sturdy also and grips the belt securely and has a hook-like thing around the belt so that it can't slip off unless the jaw is opened. Again, I have no fears will be come off my belt.

I am sorry that I used the Carabiner attachment for my Oregon 450 as long as I did. I like this one much better! It attaches very easily and securely to the waist belt of my day pack. I can easily remove the GPS from the clip, accomplish what I need to do, and then just as easily reinsert it into the clip with a very prominent "click" verifying it is indeed secure again. And it will just as easily and securely attach to any belt up to an inch and a half wide (1 1/4 - 1 1/2 being ideal). Worth noting: when I was looking to purchase one of these, I saw a You Tube video review (not sure where) that showed an Oregon 450 easily falling out of one of these clips when turned upside down. Perhaps that was another make, I don't recall. But I can assure you that that cannot happen with this Garmin one. Both the GPS attachment and the separable clip are both very secure in all positions!

This clip was purchased for a Garmin Etrex 10. I actually think the design is fine, but mine had a mechanical problem. The concept is that the clip has two parts: A belt component that attaches to your belt and a device component that attaches to the Garmin GPS device. The two pieces mate by clipping together. There is a swivel in the belt component and the device component stays attached and is released with a trigger built into the belt component. You can remove the device by pressing the trigger and your bet attachment stays on your belt. It's really not a bad product, actually. The one complaint is that it is a little less compact than the standard belt clip, and it could be prone to failure after many uses.

I've just worn out my 3rd of these, used on my Oregon 450. One problem with the design, right off I find I must cement the spring inside the clip with some epoxy or it will repeatedly get stuck in a position where the button won't hold. It can be temporarily fixed with a small screwdriver, but the plastic peg through the spring should be cemented to prevent jamming. With frequent use these clips are good for about 8 months. As the plastic wears down and I'd have lost my GPSr a dozen times but for a little leash I've tied to it for kayaking. I recommend buying two at a time because when it wears out, you'll want a fresh one right away, without waiting for the next one to arrive. A practical design, but could stand to be made of metal rather than plastic.
