Siberian Garlic Bulbs

Siberian Garlic

Siberian garlic is a hardy and easy to grow variety that produces large bulbs with an abundant amount of cloves. This is an excellent choice for gardeners who want to grow garlic but have limited space or have very little time to spend caring for their plants.

Siberian Garlic Growing Instructions

  • Siberian garlic is a hardy and easy to grow variety that produces large bulbs with an abundant amount of cloves. You can plant Siberian garlic in fall or spring, and it will tolerate both soil types including poor soil. This is an excellent choice for gardeners who want to grow garlic but have limited space or have very little time to spend caring for their plants.
  • With beautiful purple skin and delicious, mild flavored bulbs, Siberian garlic is the perfect choice for variety-seeking gardeners. It's also a great option for those with limited space or who don't want to spend much time caring for their plants.
  • To grow garlic split bulb into cloves, simply plant the cloves seperately point up in the ground (about 2 inches deep) and they will sprout a new plant. If you are overwintering your garlic and want to keep a specific variety alive, consider planting it in late summer or early fall. Garlic planted in this manner will go dormant during winter but will pop up in spring when the soil warms up enough for growth to resume.
  • The seed garlic will contain 6-8 cloves in each bulb. Each clove of garlic will produce one full bulb of garlic. Therefore each bulb will produce 6-8 new bulbs. Leave garlic in the ground until it reaches the size you would like to harvest or when the green shoots turn brown.

Planting Siberian Garlic Cloves

Planting Siberian Garlic

Planting Siberian Garlic

To grow garlic split bulb into cloves, simply plant the cloves separately point up in the ground (about 2 inches deep) and they will sprout a new plant. If you are overwintering your garlic and want to keep a specific variety alive, consider planting it in late summer or early fall. Garlic planted in this manner will go dormant during winter but will pop up in spring when the soil warms up enough for growth to resume. Bulbs can be planted in the spring and harvested later in the year.

Siberian Garlic Uses and Applications

Siberian garlic is best suited for both raw and cooked applications such as baking, frying, roasting, and sautéing. It can be consumed raw, chopped into small pieces and cooked, or roasted in bulbs to bring out the creamy, sweet flavor. Siberian garlic is less pungent than other garlic and can add just enough flavor without overwhelming other ingredients. It can be used as a spread on toast and added to stews, soups, dips, mashed potatoes, beans, sauces, and marinades. It can also be mixed into pasta dishes, curries, or stir-fries. Siberian garlic pairs well with spinach, potatoes, meats such as poultry, beef, pork, turkey, and fish, tomatoes, bell pepper, broccoli, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, and grains such as quinoa, barley, and farro. It will keep up to seven months when stored in a cool, dry, and dark place.

These did not come up. I have planted garlic before and these were terrible.

Planted these at the end of March (Colorado). Even with cool to cold weather, these are growing. 100% growth rate from plants received. It is end of May, and they are 12-14 inches growth high. Hoping for great results. I would recommend.

I can’t believe its growing. I put the bag it came in in the fridge for a month until it was ready. When I was ready, I put them in a tray of water about 1/2” deep. 1 day later they had green shoots from every clover. I’m amazed. Grocery store garlic does not do this.

I hate negative reviews but this company deserves this. I ordered two packages of Siberian garlic bulbs last fall (Nov. 2024). . When they arrived it appeared that they had sat in a warm location for quite a while and were starting to sprout. The ones that were not starting to sprout were moldy. I returned one of the most offensive packages and kept the other, hoping that they would eventually grow in my garden. Keep in mind that this is late November, 2024, I break the bulbs apart and plant the cloves and by the end of May the following year I harvest the new garlic bulbs. Wisely, I also ordered garlic bulbs from another company, Heirloom Red Garlic (Chesnok) Jumbo from another seller on Amazon ( Gourmet Market). Fast forward to April, 2025. I planted the Siberian garlic in three different gardens, NOT ONE OF THE CLOVES GREW)! All of the Gourmet Market Heirloom Garlic cloves are at least 8-10 inches high. How disheartening, I had to wait 5 months to see that the Siberian Garlic bulbs didn’t grow! Because of this, I would not recommend Siberian Garlic as a supplier for garlic cloves. I didn’t want to even give them one star but I’m forced to. And don’t get me started on what happened when I contacted their customer service.

The garlic bulbs I received are healthy and because of the number I know I’ll get some good sprouts when I plant them out in late October. The flavor is great—nice and strong just as you’d expect from fresh garlic. There is a little dryness in one of the bulbs but overall, they’re still good quality, just be aware they might not be the largest size you can find. Will probably buy again for the flavor alone!

I Just got my package of six bulbs and they look great! Most of them are already sprouting even in the bulb!!I live at about 3000 feet, Northern California, usually get snow, not a bunch of freezing, actually pretty mild winters for the area. I’m hoping they’ll do well.I Broke them up, fertilized, rototilled and planted,I didn’t find a bad clove or mold in the bunch!!Interesting specs, six bulbs, average yield about 15 cloves Per bulb.Their normal size, some runts, but nice and healthy, I’m sure they’ll do well.I planted 97 cloves!!Honestly, I was a bit leery, there were a few bad reviews, IE dried out, runts, and moldy.I didn’t find any of that!!Shipping package, freshness, quality and quickness all great!!Very glad I did business with this company!

The product appears to be perfectly good - but it took two months to get here. Fortunately it doesn't have to be planted until the fall, so that's not so bad.
