I was excited to get a great price on a " used " ladder.Unfortunately it arrived with the mounting plates missing.I returned it and ordered another used one.Hopefully it comes with all the parts. It appears to be a very high quality product.I'll review the next one when it arrives.

Super sturdy. Mounted on an aluminum 16' Yamaha G3. Great ladder. I weigh almost 300lbs and it holds my weight without any problems at all. Worth every penny in my mind.

**edit**After going out in the boat twice, the elastic piece that holds the ladder is almost totally frayed to the point it's going to break probably the next time out. If you have a strap that holds the ladder together, you dont really need the elastic ball piece, but I thought it was a neat feature...oh well. Still a good ladder. Very sturdy ladder, not cheap feeling at all. Rungs stay in place, so if you are in shallow water, you can step on 1 rung or 2 rungs only. The rest telescope to itself. The bungee cord ladder holder was a nice touch.I have a very old boat and was looking for something to extend my 2 rung ladder without replacing the ladder. I like OEM parts as much as possible.

Fits perfectly on my low cut transom and sit above the water line. Get the 4 step ladder and don’t opt for the 3 step option of this ladder. This ladder is perfect for fishing boats when the transom is NOT 90 degrees. It was tested to near max weight capacity and did fine all day. One of the guys on here implied his hardware failed so I drilled the holes from 1/4 in to 5/16 in thick with 1/4 inch think stainless backing plate to spread the weight out.

This is a very sturdy ladder and it's easy to mount. The way in which the brackets are made and attached to the ladder make it easy to get tools in for mounting. I used 1/4" stainless bolts, lock nuts, and washers to mount it through a 1-3/4" transom and a 1/4" aluminum backing plate (16"x12"). I would recommend a backing plate since so much strain is put in one area of the transom due to the single point of attachment, but then again I tend to over engineering things.... The ladder telescopes and folds up nice and secure. There is a band to keep the ladder telescoped together and rubber keepers that hold the ladder in the upright position. I rarely leave reviews on items, but I thought this ladder deserved a great review.UPDATE: Still great. I used it for the first time last week in the water and it had NO issues allowing 250+ pound people to climb into the boat. The rubber ladder keepers keep it in the upright position even when going down the highway at 75 MPH. Zero issues so far. Highly recommended.

I installed this ladder on a 2014 Lund Fury XL. The size is perfect for the port side transom. It's surprisingly very sturdy and comfortable to use. When deployed it hangs at a slight angle from the boat and makes it very easy to climb.I made sure to install it as far to port as I could so in the event the ladder was accidentally left down it wouldn't interfere with the propeller.I used four 1/4x20x 3" stainless steel bolts with two 3x2x1/8" backing plates for the inside of transom, trim rings, washers and nylon lock nuts. Use a good silicone sealant to coat all the mating faces and coat the holes made by drilling, especially if you have a wood core transom like I do.Really, I couldn't be happier with the form or the function.
