Product Description

A non-contact voltage tester serves as a key component in any electrical toolkit, allowing the user to verify the presence of AC voltage prior to working on an electrical installation or during troubleshooting without requiring physical contact with live electrical conductors. The Gardner Bender GVD-3504 Circuit Alert non-contact voltage tester features both audible (beeping) and visual (360 degree flashing red light) indicators to alert the user of the presence of AC voltage from 50V to 600V. Use to locate breaks in wires and voltage at outlets, circuit breaker panels, light fixtures, switches, and motors. Quickly locates the hot terminals in receptacles. Fully insulated probe tip eliminates the risk of contacting live electrical wires. Built in patented safe test feature ensures tester and batteries are working properly. The unit includes a pocket-clip for secure portability. Requires one (1) AAA Battery (not included). Tester is C/ETL/UL Listed, offers a 150lb crush rating, CAT III 600V rating..

I use this all the time. I saves me from getting shocked when I flip out the wrong breaker or jut seeing that the circuit works.

I have several of these with no issues. I trust them. Well, as much as you should trust this type of device :)

Product came in earlier. Works as it needed to saving me an electric shock and all. Will buy again. Wished for the price it had included the AAA battery as well.

Accurate, easy to use and small enough to keep with you. This thing has probably saved my life multiple times...seriously.

Incredible! I was having a hard time fixing my Christmas lights. I've thrown many to garbage. Not anymore. This little device works great. I was able to fix my Christmas lights pretty fast.

It works good the only thing I don't like is the button to turn it on is close to the voltage you'll be testing should be on the back of the tester

I like that this version takes one AAA battery instead of the older version which took the circular LR44s. The LR44s have been involved in a number of infant deaths as they swallow them quite easily. I had one of the older version also go haywire and detect electricity everywhere - I put that in the trash.I find the form to be pleasing in the hand and it is thin and fits in jean pocket somewhat nicely. I have a few other non-contact testers but I favor this one.Yes the non-contact volt detector does have its limitation - sometimes it can detect ghost voltage where a wire is acting as an antenna and sometimes it is going to be hard to determine which wire in a box is live if there are multiple wires. For these cases you go and use your multimeter. I don't think a non-contact volt meter is ever going to be 100% reliable - maybe there is a much better one and I just haven't seen it.
