I really have enjoyed using this apron for picking rocks with my family. We love to rock hound and sometimes pockets and buckets just aren't handy. This heavy duty apron has been great for rock picking except that stuff can easily come out the sides of the apron. Overall the fit is nice, it's easy to use, washes up nicely, the color is fun and cute and it functions as it should.

This is a fantastic gardening apron. The pockets are deep and wide, it’s washable and dirt resistant, and is designed to last much longer than cotton ones. It’s a fantastic find.SPECIAL NOTE: As an approved Amazon Vine member with Gold status, I am trusted to select items for review (sometimes from a list of almost 130,000 options). Many of these items are new to the market, or a seller simply wants some additional exposure for their product. I am NOT required to review every item in exchange for receiving and trying it out. I only order products that are important to me (ones I know I have an interest in and will use), and always strive to provide an honest evaluation of my experience. I do not automatically give a 4- or 5-star review, because the community of Amazon purchasers deserve to know real thoughts and experiences. So, my reviews are always and only based on my use and testing of the product. In that you can trust 100%. It's also important to note that I pay almost 30% in federal income taxes for each item that I receive, whether I review it or not.

Once you try this thing on and fiddle with all the straps and buckles, you quickly realize how cool and adjustable it is. It can be adaptable to a wide range of body types and fit preferences. Padded shoulder straps keep harvest weight from digging into your shoulders but they are removable if you decide you don’t need them. The overall appearance and quality is impressive. It looks like serious gear. I walked into the supermarket while wearing it the first time and a neighbor immediately asked me about it. I eagerly showed her all the features, including the harness-like fit at the back. Modeling garden wear in the supermarket? Why not? You’ll not only love having this thing for yourself, you may want to buy more to share with other gardeners. I’m in a community garden, so I know I’ll be sending people the Amazon link. Now about these pockets — I took me a while to fully appreciate them. The central pocket on the bib of the apron is of a good size but not very voluminous. It may hold your phone, keys and maybe a pair of gloves but not much else because it’s like an envelope against your chest. The two small pockets outside of the main pouch could be deeper, in my opinion. I tried to carry a small pair of pruners and had to choose between the blade tips sticking out of the pocket or poking a hole in the bottom. So we are not putting much into those pockets either. Maybe some nitrile gloves. Maybe some string, plant clips or other small items; a rag? I wish they were not so shallow. Last but not least is the main compartment. How did I miss that first picture in the listing where produce is mid-air between the man’s apron and his harvest bin? It’s like a bottomless kangaroo pouch! This is not a defect; it’s part of the design. If you do not hitch up the bottom flap of the apron enough (or at all), your produce will go tumbling out through the bottom! I later realized the reason for what at first seemed a bizarre design. It is meant to allow you to easily off-load your harvest into a collection bin, box, basket or what have you, without having to dive in and remove the items by hand. But I’m subtracting one star for this flap thing because it lacks support in the middle. Unless those two straps are hitched all the way up, decreasing the pouch depth and volume by about half, items can find a way to tumble out. A middle strap would have made it perfect. The last picture in the listing shows a farmer in an orange orchard with his apron full of oranges although the flap is barely hitched up. Believe me, that’s not physically possible; it’s a very edited image. The apron appears very well stitched and should hold up well to wear and washing, but I’m not planning to ever wash mine unless it gets stiff with soil and plant juices. Even then, I may just spray it with Castile soap and hose it down.
