The Rocket pellets combine our performance lead with a hardened steel tip to yield enhanced penetration and shock with precision accuracy. The Rocket enhances down-range performance without any sacrifice of accuracy and consistency. They are definitely not the best option for sharp shooting. At 25 yards using a 1100 fps rifle I can group them in radius of about 2 to 3 inches. Which is good, but I tend to shoot small game and I want something more accurate. Also I have a gamo rifle with a 10 round magazine and I’ve noticed that some of these pellets fell to the ground when I’m reloading, not sure what’s that about but it doesn’t happens when I use other brands.

This pellet absolutely loves my Ruger, break-action Pellet Rifle. Great accuracy from it and it also has a punch!

So far the most accurate pellet I’ve tried in this air rifle. Of three different types, at the same range(10 yards) these were the only ones to actually embed in a 2x6 board..

Purchased a tin of these pellets along with a Gamo .22 air rifle for crow and varmint control in a suburban neighborhood. Clearly a shotgun would have been the safer and higher efficacy preference but I didn't think my neighbors would smilingly approve. After zeroing the scope on beer cans at 50 meters using these pellets, I was satisfied with their accuracy and consistency. I had to be certain of the accuracy before attempting to plink nuisance critters from my yard and trees, as I didn't want to miss. It had to be a one shot - one kill transaction. So far, these rounds have impressed me with their accuracy and lethality. Over the past year I have taken three shots with these pellets and made three clean, nearly instantaneous kills. Two crows and a grey squirrel never knew what hit them and were dropped cleanly with no involuntary movement after impact. The 30' squirrel shot landed squarely on the shoulder blade, punched a clean, bloodless hole and dropped it like a potato. There was very little movement after hitting the ground. There was also no exit wound and no blood. I figured the round must have fragmented upon impact and caused massive internal devastation in the vitals. The design of this pellet is interesting. It has a copper BB at its tip to provide inertial mass, but is cupped and propelled by a lead pellet. My guess is that the mass of the BB slams into the target and the lead pellet then fragments around it upon impact.Figured I'd share my story since I'm impressed with these pellets. They are extremely accurate and are now 3 for 3 against crows and squirrels, which are by no means easy animals to drop in their tracks. Recommended!

I have put about 500 rounds through my Gamo Maxxim 2 .22. I have tried 2 varieties of H&N pellets. I have tried one other kind of gamo pellet. I have found that Gamo pellets are far more accurate and consistent, and work better, fitting into the Gamo magazine easily and cycling into the action of the break barrel rifle better. They go into the magazine very smoothly, while I had to push the H&N pellets into the magazine with a pen. I am hitting things far more accurately now and I feel much more comfortable that the pellets will hit about where I am expecting. I previously had H&N pellets which cost over $30, and these cost only $7. I haven't yet hunted with them so I don't know how lethal they will be. They feel lighter than the H&Ns. But who cares, if I can hit what I am aiming at that is the most important thing. Hoping for a groundhog later today.update: I found and buried a groundhog I shot 3 days ago that ran into the bushes and I thought he had somehow survived the initial shot. I was shooting from above. The pellet entered about 1 inch behind the ear, missed the skull and passed through I believe about 6 inches of flesh and came out low on the other side, with an exit wound on the front chest, and the groundhog died probably within a few seconds of the original shot. I wanted these pellets for more penetration, to make sure that any blood vessels get opened up if I miss the skull, and that is what I believe has happened. I prefer these over the H&N Barracudas, which are also good and sometimes kill groundhogs instantly, because these penetrate better.

These are an awesome pellet! That steel bb gives really great penetration and the lead part does some really great expansion! Great design, hard hitting and should do the job effectively and efficiently on small to medium sized targets. 👍

I will move back to edit and update this review near future, as this is first day of ballistic performance trials, and there is more to complete before a proper opinion is formulated, however Initially i found something Interesting in this Initial first day, using both .22 cal and .177 of this same Item, I have found , maybe because of weight ratio that my .177 Gamo Rockets are a for sure piercing guarantee through multiple layers of metal , board and wood........so far although maybe premature my opinion , thupdatee same Gamo Rocket .22 from the same distance was a large dent and no piercing at all, time and more trials with ballistic gel blocks 9' and 16' , between a .177 Talon Magnum Walther and a .22 Ruger Magnum , I will edit and refine my finals later, stay tuned,PS- I still think they are really cool and my .22 is one day old, needs to be primed first, I am glad I bought them, no regrets, very cool !Joe Friday ' I drive car 54 '*****UPDATE March /2013 :********* I returned the .22 cal Ruger for obvious reasons, I Instead purchased a RWS Diana 350 P Magnum .22 cal. made in Germany.!........OK this goes hand in hand with the update of the .22 cal GAMO ROCKET PELLET , seemingly they achieve a required goal forged by comparison of the same ammo in .177 using a Walther Talon Magnum. Diana 350 Mag loves these, piercing power tests from 10,20,30 yards , hard and soft targets Including Ballistic gel blocks terminal performance trials have been exceptional and have basically mirrored performance of the .177 cal of the same. When rating any ammo variables and logistic performance it must be clear and said again, it truly all depends on the rifle and or weapon used, not every pellet or ammo is liked by every gun, for those of you just starting out learn to 'feel' what your gun likes, sounds silly right ? However after you try 20 different pellets, you will find one in particular that feels like it was made for your rifle, always coming through, never disappointing you, that is one in maybe an eventual group of 2 or 3 different pellets that you will use most of the time, the rest will just collect dust.GAMO ROCKET .177 AND .22 CALIBER AS WELL AS THE GAMO PBA BALLISTIC PIERCING PELLETS FOR .177 AND .22 CAL. ARE ON MY WINNERS LIST as a great penetrating lighter weight pellet, better used for relative close encounters hunting and target respectfully, these are PENETRATING , not heavy hitter KNOCKDOWNS !'JOE FRIDAY, I DRIVE CAR 54 ' BE WELL, BE SAFE, HAPPY HUNTING !
