I'm using this charger on a 4 strand, high tensile, perimeter fence. Approximately 8 miles of wire total with interior pastures. It's seems as though the batteries are starting to fail after 1 year. I'm averaging 3.5 to 4 kv on the fence power wise. Just depends on vegetation. I highly recommend using the timeless fence post with it. It'll basically be useless If you use steel t-post and have a clip break. Lesson learned due to deer jumping the fence and snapping plastic clips.
