Product Description

An essential tool in measuring the rotational speed of a rotating object and to inspect the defect on its surface without the need to adhere any mark to reflect the light, and thereby without the need to halt the object from its rotation.

The light is weaker then 2-3 watt conventional flash light.The light pattern is highly uneven. The specifications and the product manual poor, missing important data, and even misleading. The control panel not even described in the manual.The control panel has not lit, completely dark, and not readable in dark environment.Overall this item is useless for my purpose .

... So low in fact that they can't even be seen in normal daylight. This strobe can't be used for any type of stop motion photography since it's light output is insufficient even for my Sony NEX-7 to capture an image from it ... even in the dark.A single ultra bright white LED produces a lot more light .... REALLY.

Just received and works as expected. The light is bright enough to see the rotating flywheel on a vertical shaft lawnmower. (Asked question earlier, before ordering.) The flywheel is covered by a grill and the pull starter cord reel, but there's enough gap to sychronize the strobe to the flywheel. It's naturally shaded below the grill and that helps.Came in a box that is foam lined and cut/shaped-to-fit, so it can be safely stored with the removable cord. Also, came with a spare bulb.

This is a nice compact unit that works as advertised. I needed it to measure the speed of a fan in an HVAC application, in a well-lit environment. It worked very nicely. For the price it can't be beat I believe. I'm an engineer and an expert fabricator, machinist, etc., and I don't give 5 stars casually.

Unit is essentially as advertised. The flash is not as bright as one might expect, given its size.Strobe function on my cell phone is brighterFrequency seems stable. Display is easy to read but is not backlit.One complaint (a big one for me) is the AUTO STOP FLASHING "feature" (last listed item in the instruction manual). Per the manual, "The strobe light will stop flashing about 5 minutes after power on the stroboscope in order to prolong lifetime of strobe light. To make it work again, one have (sic) to power off the stroboscope and power it on again." For most this is not an issue. However, I want to continuously monitor something at 40 Hz (2400 flashes per minute) for an hour at a time each day. The bulb is rated at 100 million flashes (plus the unit comes with a spare). At that rate the bulb should last for about 700 hours (which translates to 2 years for my use) before I need to replace it. It turns out that for my unit it goes 4 minutes and 45 seconds before quitting. This is a real annoyance and significantly decreases its value to me.
