Very light and sturdy.Convenient to use when there is a lot of snow.Recommended for light trekking rather than rugged mountains.

I bought these for a long trip a couple years ago. The snow shoes are fine, but the trekking poles have stood up to years of abuse at this point. I've snapped many aluminum and carbon fiber poles. Usually they last about 4-6 months. These ones have lasted 2 years, with only a slight warping on one.

Twice I got on the backs of them while temping Fate on steep downhill compact snow and instantly crashed. I saw that coming and should have switched back to microspikes. My bad.Otherwise they are pretty good and didn't break when I was sure my crashes would have broken several points on them. We were all twisted up. I didn't have to adjust them only how get vertical and continue. Learning curve.Ravens watched me put them on.

I needed to replace my snowshoes. These are exactly what I was wanting. Lightweight and not too bulky for enjoying a day out in the snow. Love the quick and easy strap system. They perform well and are easy to maneuver in light powder or on a packed trail. Poles are durable and easy to adjust to multiple heights.

Easy on and off. I particularly like the toe basket vs. most others' straps. Good for going down steep hills. I've worn these snowshoes 3 times so far, about 15 miles, back country. If I was going over-night and carrying a large pack, I'd prefer the $300 ones. But for day hikes these are great.

For the price, I am very satisfied with these snowshoes. The crampons are aggressive enough for steep icy slopes--we have plenty of those here on the west coast of BC, Canada. The snowshoes don't provide much lift in powder, but they work well on normal snow. The heel lifts work for steep upward slopes. The forefoot bindings are easy to use and secure. The heel binding works well also, but the strap is very long and relies on plastic clips for managing the dangle-y ends. One clip broke within 5 minutes of my first use. All the remaining clips (4 per snowshoe) are still fine. I was able to find reasonably priced replacement clips via Walmart--Amazon doesn't seem to have any--but they take several weeks to come (webbing keeper clips for 2.4 cm webbing). The telescoping poles are very good for the price. I found that the screw-on baskets came off about every 20 minutes or so, until I made lanyards to secure them to the pole. No problems since. The telescoping mechanism allows you to adjust the length of the poles. If the poles collapse when pressure is applied, the compression mechanism needs to be adjusted. To adjust the compression pressure: lift the compression point handle (to loosen the compression point--in my photo this handle is blue), turn the black knob across from the handle (clockwise to tighten the compression and counter-clockwise to loosen it) one or two turns and then close the handle again. If the handle won't close, loosen the knob one turn and try again.Overall very good performance and excellent value for casual snowshoeing.

I've had these about a year, probably used the snowshoes ~5 times in that period and the poles ~20 times. Much better cleats/bite than most skin-on-frame snowshoes, and one of few with the (in my opinion) critical front/toe box strap. And hill risers at this price point.... I'm 130 lbs plus whatever my pack weighs (~15 lbs? 20?), and I've been happy with the 25" snowshoes. You could probably follow the manufacturer's size/weight recommendations if you only hike on groomed trails, but breaking my own trail is half the draw of snowshoeing (why bother with snowshoes otherwise?), so personally I would recommend against that.
