Resolved my furnace short cycling issue.Cost of this part was less than $15.The crooks at the furnace repair company wanted to charge me $350 for this repair.Took me about 3 hours to learn and diagnose, and 5 minutes to replace the sensor.

Bought it back in Dec 2020, as my furnace keept shutting down, after a quick search, it turned out to be this part. It was the middle of the night, so no way I was gonna have this replaced on time. So I just cleaned out the old one really good and 4 year later, Jan 2025 it finally gave out. Glad I had this as a backup and now I'm buying another one. I need my heater working for the upcoming polar vortex in the Midwest.

As a home owner have a 59SP5A060E171214 unit for my home that is 5 yrs old. Coupled with a nest thermostat I started getting frequently message flashing furnace shutting on/off every 5 mins. I did google online and found a common problem with frequent recycling of furnace could be a faulty flame sensor. HVAC folks here charge horrid here to diagnose and replace that could have costed me close to $250. did simple checks myself and ordered this part. Came on time well packed and its a matter of removing the old one and replace this. I am yet to run the test and see if it has resolved the problem. Assuming it won't then its a quick fix and saved $250 investing $17 buying it here. Will keep others posted on how it performs or did fix the problem as a whole.03/02/2023: it has been more than 3 months since I replaced the old sensor with this one. I haven't had a single episode of furnace short recycling post replacement. This suggests it was indeed a faulty flame sensor and this product worth the replacement.

After I installed this flame sensor, I watched a video on Flame rectification and I better understand how the system works. I am keeping the sensor, just in case.

Purchased this as a backup to the OE part in our Carrier 58RAV furnace because the price was great. Flame sensor works but glows red in the flame (OE one does not). Position of the probe does not sit exact as the carrier probe, but keeping it in case we need emergency heat while we get the Carrier part.

My Bryant 311AAV Plus 80 gas heater problem was actually a high limit switch that failed, but I replaced the ignitor and the flame sensor as well. Apparently, the flame sensor and ignitor are supposed to be replaced every 4 or 5 years anyway, and it's been 11 years for me. It was taking a long time to heat, which is often due to a broken or dirty flame sensor which falsely thinks the flame is out and tells the heater to turn off the gas for safety reasons. It's working fine, now. These are pretty cheap, much cheaper than the ignitor, but I'll just keep the original as a backup in case of total failure in the future.
