I bought it for my little Shih Tzu mix. I live on the bottom floor and wanted her to have something insulated to lay on in the winter months. The insulation inside of it makes it slippery, so I now have it folded up and out of my way, so I don't step on it and slip.

I bought this for my pup's bed to keep her warm in the colder months without using an electric blanket. She did try to chomp it at first because as others said it's crinkly inside and sounds like a toy, but then she took right to it when she realized how cozy it was. But because everyone complained about the internal layer moving around, I sewed each corner of the blanket before giving it to her so the center layer stays put. Easy fix for a super cozy and affordable blanket she loves to curl up in.

I originally got this blanket for my very-old-man cat before he passed. We didn't want to get anything electric, but he really needed help staying warm toward the end. It worked perfectly for this purpose, and he loved it until his last day. My two young cats both love it, too, and we use it to stay super cozy in the RV. So far this year, no need to pile on the blankets even on fairly cold nights—just a sheet and a thin comforter and this on top. This one's starting to get pretty ratty (the boys like to chew on it, lol) so I'm here to get a second. And a note regarding reviewers' complaints of metallic insides and weird crinkling noises: that's the mylar. That's what makes this blanket do what it does. The mylar inside acts as reflective insulation; your body heat bounces off the blanket and stays with you instead of escaping into the air. As far as I know, it's the same thing as those folding emergency blankets used in first aid / survival kits. So if you're reading these reviews that remark on the crinkly bit as a bad thing—you want that metallic liner, or the blanket is just a plain ol' blanket.

Very warm but very slippery and my dog doesn’t like it. I’m worried she will slip and fall when jumping onto it so I don’t use it for any elevated surfaces (couch, car seat etc), which is what I bought it for. She also seems to dislike it anyway cause of the crinkly noise and feeling the middle layer creates. Maybe okay for the floor/ dog bed on the floor, but don’t put on an elevated surface and be prepared to return it if the noise and feeling bother your pet.

My dog Boo is a nester. In his pursuit of making himself the nestiest of nests...he's shredded some very nice (and expensive) sheets and quilts. He did have a nice warm fuzzy blanket...but my youngest kept stealing it every time I washed it...so I decided to get him a new blanket...which is how we ended up here...writing a review.I can't speak to the longevity of this blanket. I'm not a fan of the stitching around the edges. It's the kind known to fall apart after a few washes. It has some weird crinkly layer inside it...which hopefully deters my youngest from stealing it. I also wasn't too keen on spending $20-ish for a dog blanket...even for the Boo who deserves all that and way more...after all we are in the midst of a global pandemic and I recently lost my job.Sometimes...however...what matters to me is not what matters to the receiver of a gift...in this instance...The Boo.What I can speak to...for us both...is that this blanket is 100% Boo approved. He abso-freakin'-lutely LOVES this blanket. It's warm and snuggly...just like the Boo. I no longer worry about him shredding my bedding. Gone are the nights of Pirate Boo stealing my blanket as I sleep (or before I even get into bed). I just put his blanket on top and he uses the claw claws on his paw paws to nestie this blankie into the nestiest of Boo nests before barnacling himself to my side for snuggles and cuddles...ultimately making this blanket a gift for us both.If your dog is a nester and/or a pirate like the Boo...just get this blanket. Your dog (and your bedding) will thank you for it ❤️

I purchased 5 of the ThermaNAP self warming blankets, 1 for my dog and the other 4 as pets for furry nieces and nephews. I gave Tasha, (my furbaby) hers and noticed right away the thermal material makes a crackling noise sort of like the pet toys that have a water bottle or other crackling material. I tried it out anyhow, and my dog got all excited and started chewing and scratching at the blanket and shaking it in her mouth trying to get at the crackling sound. Since one of my furry nephews is currently recovering from an obstruction surgery and had 3 feet of intestines removed, I decided against giving any of the blankets for fear of a repeat. I returned them with NO trouble whatsoever so far. I am currently awaiting for the refunds to be deposited into my account. The blanket was soft but I can't rate anything else since I didn't use it for more than on and off for a day. Just an idea but maybe there should be something in the description about the sound?

This blanket came nicely bundled with a ribbon. It was very soft. I wouldn’t recommend it for an older dog tho. There’s a plastic in the middle that makes this blanket water resistant... BUT it also makes it very slippery. My dog is young, but she keeps slipping and sliding off this blanket. But she loves it, that’s why I’m giving it a 4 star rating.

While.the blanket is ok and the dogs like it just fine, the whole purpose of this blanket for us was the water resistant liner which after 2 months has torn and wadded up inside. We bought 2 of these and both have issues. Not happy with this product.
