Worked perfectly and cut an MDF edge like butter. Very accurate and didn't wobble.

This is exactly what my husband wanted and the price was much better than what he saw in a brick and mortar. He's used it and says it works wonderfully and he's glad he bought it.

Nice bit. Cut super smooth. I love it when I suddenly realize I am already cutting wood before I even feel any pressure.

Needed to make a slot in the bottom of a new sliding barn door to accommodate the floor guide. I felt that using this bit along with my DeWalt 618 router and an offset base would be the safest way to accomplish this. Worked like a charm and the bit produced a smooth clean 1/4"x9/16" deep slot. Per the floor guide instructions, I was suppose to make a 3/4" deep slot. Got around this by slightly increasing the height of the door from the floor and it works great.I could not find any company that makes a 1/4"x3/4" deep slotting bit. It would be greatly appreciated if Freud could manufacture this type of bit so that all of us DYI barn door installers could have a safe method for producing the required door bottom slot.

Arrived with burn marks and burned wood residue all over. Obviously used (abused).Called Amazon. Could not replace so they re-imbedded my money. Used a blade cleaner to soak and clean the blade. It works well.

Used the cutter to slice a grove in the bottom of a barn door for the floor guide. The door is pine and this bit cut like it was not there. I have a fairly strong Porter Cable router and with three solid carbide teeth, this cut smoothly and aggressively. I love it. Even for my casual use its worth the money. Great bit. Two things to note (not problems, just be aware) This is a 1/2" bit. my router has interchangeable collets, no issue for me. I did manage to get a couple of dings in the edge of the door because I had the shank too far into the collet and the locking nut was just sticking down when I adjusted for the depth from the door edge. I just should have paid attention, not a big deal but you could make a mess if you are not careful.

I tackled my first project using my router and this bit, and it went awesome. I used this to do a joinery technique I saw on a woodworking show, where you cut a 1/4 inch slot on two sides of wood (2x10's in my case), then cut strips of 1/4 plywood that were just slightly narrower than the sum of the depths on board boards, and glue together. The joint strength is incredible, and I cut probably 200 total feet of these slots. The bit worked wonderfully in the pine, cutting through easily cleanly. The slots were straight and square, and the plywood strips fit nice and snug. The price was excellent too on this thing, I'm excited to tackle more projects with this. Highly recommended.

There is nothing wrong with this product, but it didn't work for my needs. I have a dewalt compact router and it isn't impossible to use this bit with it, but it took some rigging. I bought this to make cabinet doors and was hoping to slide 1/4 plywood into the slots I made with this, but sadly 1/4 plywood isn't 1/4. There was way too much wiggle room for my liking. As I said there is nothing wrong with this, but make sure your router will be able to accommodate it and take note that a smaller size is needed for plywood.
