Great soil. I can be mixed with others. Drains well. More expensive than some but you’re paying for the quality. I definitely would recommend this product.

Good soil, but had gnats in it...The last two times I ordered this bag of soil there was fungus gnats issues. I have gotten Fox Farm soils before with no issue of bugs or anything so I am not sure what happened. Maybe a bad batch. Nothing against the soil.

If you're one of the many who has ventured into the autoflowering world then this will work really well. It has 90% of what you need to create the ultimate super soil. I amend this with around 5 other things to get what I'm after but if you buy this and just add worm castings, 5 pounds or more per one bag (2cu ft) then you'll be in great shape. The best amended for autos is worm castings. One bag of this stuff amended with a 10 pound bag of worm castings will provide you with six 2.2 gallon containers. So, essentially six plants for just about any auto strain you want.

I baught this on here because i wasnt driving to my nursery for a bag at 40bucks. It is very VERY light and yet still holds water nice if you live in dry warm climates you might want to add some small composted wood shavings to hold water. Or buy some other amendments. I start all my plants in this and plan to finish, WHen i transplanted my seedlings from a 16oz container into a 1 callon Resin molded contain they just exploded within a week i had new shoots and they just seemed to love the airy loam this provides. If growin peppers this is great on its own. Ph is good my run off is aroun 6.4. around 6 with nutes added. If growin say medicinal plants then i suggest adding in some Vermiculite or another water retentioner. i water when plants tell me too some of my conainers i placed on a tray because the heat will evaporate it in these hot summers. So the top will dry out within a few hours but get whisked up like a sponge. Amazing quality and one big bag. About the size of a large bag a of dog food.. I recomend this either as a stand alone or a key ingredient in a mixture. I prefeer to take this whole bag and add in about 4 parts vermiculite and sometime some composted sawdust or bark the bark for more acid loving plant. Im growin 8 varieties of peppers, 3 citrus trees and a few unmentionables.. What i did this time was take a bag of this fox farm happy from 2-cubic feet added fine mulch some composted grass and dead leaves and then added a bag for wormcasting. Havent fertilized once in 3 month and all green, ( Tip top your plant leads young they will form v then i top those to for another and then so on.) Once the canopy is established i skirt my up to about 6 inches and remove the lowest suckers. Happy Frog alone is good from start to finish but if added ammendments are use then you have a super rich soil that can last atleast 2 years in a container. IF you want to over winter or are rootbound i cut the bottom of the bucket add in another bucket i drill 4 holes in a square on one bigger one in the middle. I lay gravel or small rocks in the second one and fill 2/3s with Happy Frog and compost. I prune some roots and the tops and seperate some tangled roots and set it on the bucket, You could also just cut the bottom of the bucket dig a hole half the length and just set it in the ground., Spread some tomatoe feed which is mostly bone meal in the whole along with a pack of matches. You now have hybrid container garden and can easily chart, All in all this soil will do anything you want it to. Came in a big box with the bag iside. Happy gardening. Its march in MI and i have half my garden started already unde 200w CFL.
