The pin is too long so it bottomed out the Schrader valve in the R12 flare fitting so the R134a fitting on the end of the filler hose would not go on far enough to latch on.

Used this product in combination with the to repair a refrigeration unit. I have this permanently installed on the process tube of my compressor so that I can add more R-134a any time I need to. Feels like a high-quality part. Comes with a nice blue cap with a molded "L". The internal Schrader valve is a nice feature and provides some peace of mind, especially considering that the Supco unit does incorporate one.I was able to charge my unit back up and it is cooling again. I would definitely recommend this product for recharge work.
