This POA Update Kit is for use with 134A refrigerant, for R-12 order 50-2551. POA valve update kits convert the A/C system to a cycling clutch type system as found on later model vehicles. It works fine after 5 weeks of troubleshooting and waiting and the idea behind it is great, but when the product arrived I got a bad pressure regulating valve with it (cycling on and off between 21&22 psi rather than at 21&43 psi). I called to get help troubleshooting and the “tech support” I spoke with was clueless and helpless. He told me to check the refrigerant level again but could not give me any guidance on how I could test the valve. He said to call back if I still had issues… of course I still had issues so they sent a replacement pressure regulator valve. I called to speak with someone else and I did get more knowledgeable tech support from another employee, but next time I think I will stick with stock and have the OEM one rebuilt.

This upgrade kit seems to be the answer to my problem. Obviously, living in Minnesota this time of year, I don't get much of a chance to check out my air conditioning in the car. Looking forward to next spring/summer.
