I was able to use these extension tube with a variety of my lenses to get unique results. They have electrical connections so that you can use auto-focus, although I preferred going manual to get the results I wanted. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a single macro lens and already have good lenses, this would be a great alternative.

went on photo shot added this extender to my lens . This extension tube is cheaply made material all plastic it is loose on my lens. What happens my lens rotates on the extender does not lock tight. That causes loss of signal between camera and lens. Also at one point my lens rotated from the extender tube and fell off . piece of garbage so mad.

I'm new to macro photography (well, to photography in general). I wanted to play with my new Sony a6000 without paying an arm and a leg for an e-mount macro lens that didn't even have OSS. I purchased these for a fraction of the cost and am very happy with them! I love what I can do (take decent shots, given my lack of experience, of flowers and insects), and this allows me to utilize the automatic settings on my mirrorless camera!

worth every penny. this is a higher fit finish product that works superbly with prime and just fine with zooms of any emount lens. 10mm with a 30 mm sigma prime takes excellent images. all lens data transmitted through the et's

Having just received the product, I immediately tested it with several of my lenses on the A7R. First the positive aspects is that it is compact and light and the autofocus works. Now my Zeiss lenses can focus up close to get good detail for closeups. The downsides - the construction generally feels plastiky although the mounts appear to be metal. The fit is not overly tight or loose but I hope over time and continued use the mounts will perform well. The biggest disappointment is the lack of front and back caps. These caps are necessary for the prevention of dust settling inside the tubes which will be transferred over to the camera sensors. The purchase of caps will up the total cost by $10 at least. Was this a cost saving move by the seller? This is the additional hidden cost to buyer, so note this.

They function as intended but the build quality leaves a little to be desired. Image circle does NOT cover full frame, so A7(R)(S) users expecting to attach these to their FE glass will be disappointed. I would not recommend this for use with legacy glass and adapters, get macro tubes for the adapted mount.

I've used this with my a7 and the 28-70 kit lens. It worked well. Auto focus, DMF, and aperture control all functioned as normal. At 70 mm there Is some vignette but not all that bad. The 28 - 70 is the only native Sony lens I have just now, so that is all I can vouch for. The lens will focus closer with the zoom set to 28mm. When Zoomed to 70 mm there are noticeable dark spots in the corners. The dark corners get sharper as the aperture is stopped down. This is probably due to the ID of the tubes being round and the opening at the rear of the lens is rectangular. These tubes will most likely work better on a crop sensor camera / a5000, a6000
