My 2001 F450 7.3 Randomly Died one day. Good thing I know these trucks and I knew exactly what it was, This dang Sensor. They'll randomly just die on you, rough starts or No Start. Swap this out and you're on your way. I have it down to about 7 minutes cause I'm an old Chubby guy. Buy 2 if you're replacing this sensor. One to install and the other for the glove box so you never get stuck on the roadside again. This is the Upgraded - Current one.

Easy to install, once installed my truck felt like it was brand new or at least 10 years younger and runs a lot stronger now. It starts right up and runs smooth. Before install, it would just turn over, when it started it was rough, blew white smoke when cranking, and felt like it took a while to wake up. After install, fires right up, haven’t seen smoke yet, feels strong, accelerates and shifts gears smoothly. Definitely worth the price.

I ordered two of these (it is wise to keep a spare in the glove box at all times). My truck’s factory cps was still mostly functioning at 263,000 miles, but the o-ring had hardened and it was leaking oil noticeably. For the price, and piece of mind, I replaced the CPS as a whole. The truck does idle a tad smoother now, as well as have cleaner transmission shift points and power delivery is as good as or better than the original. Both sensors I received were genuine Ford parts. It took five minutes to install with a 10mm socket from under the truck.

My Truck would start then die after 30 seconds. Changed out the Cam position sensor and fixed the problem. Very happy with the quality pricing and shipping

Product worked perfectly. I was having a few minor issues. The CPS started to fail slowly at first the truck would shutdown if the horn was used. Then it started to idle slightly off every 5 seconds the tach would rev ever so slightly but nothing very noticable then as time progressed it became harder to start the truck, which i though was due to If you have these symptoms change your cps because one day it started shutting down over and over without even hitting the horn, barely made it home. After changing the CPS my truck runs smoother, starts up immediately without even warming the glow plugs in cold weather and most the most noticeable change was accelerating from a stop. My truck used to buck before taking off and now its very smooth. Most people wrote that you need a 10mm socket to remove the old but my truck had a 1/2in bolt. Im not the first owner but the original owner had the CPS changed under warranty by ford so it was the second generation gray CPS so maybe that is why it no longer had the 10mm bolt? Just a guess. Good luck its not hard to change but its tight and wear googles!
