Gave it to my 4 yr old rescue for 6 days, but always removing her poop immediately - not giving her access to it. Then tested her by leaving a small amount of poo in the yard - she ate it without hesitation. I suspect her problem is not a preference for the taste of poop but rather related to food insecurity she developed as a stray and then a shelter dog because when I feed her she attacks/wolfs down the food as though she hasn't eaten in days and thinks you might take the food away. I think she needs more time to lose her food insecurity, she's only been with me a month.

I have a Golden who after 5 years starting eating you know what, and around the same time another Golden starting doing the same. I used sixes boxes of For-Bid with no apparent effect. Maybe it works for some dogs, but in my case it was a complete waste of money.Update: After leaving my review, Alpar Laboratories contacted me to offer me a refund on one of my orders. I accepted and they quickly processed the refund. While For-Bid did not work for me, Alpar's offer was a stand-up thing to do. I am changing my rating from 1 to 3 stars because this indicates that if it does not work, Alpar will refund your purchase. Thanks Alpar!

have three pups and this seemed like it was starting to work but as soon as I stopped adding it to their food they went back to the nasty habit. For my dogs I would need to continuously put this on their food which would become very expensive... not the solution for us and feel like I wasted my money

Our dog was too sick to eat her poop when taking Forbid. She had normal poops before we started to give this to her. Then 2 days into giving this to her, she only ate half her breakfast and vomited. And was very lethargic with breathing difficulty. She then had consistent diarrhea, sometimes uncontrollable. We followed the dosage instructions. The poor little girl. All in all, I would not recommend this product. If she continues to eat her poop, I’ve read that pineapple can do the trick, so maybe that will be less invasive than this.

Our puppy has a very sensitive stomach and this did not bother him at all. He actually picked up some of his stools and brought them in and dropped them at my feet to show me. We had been giving him a daily chew that was supposed to solve the problem but it didn't do anything. I bought two boxes thinking we need them, but after one box the problem seems to have gone away.

ForBid works well for us. Using ForBid, we got the problem quickly under control. But I decided that, for maintenance, I'd rather find a product that was in a hard form, not a powder like ForBid. The new product didn't work and we're now going back to ForBid.ForBid comes as a powder in foil packets. Since we're now in a maintenance mode, directions call for just a pinch per dog each day. It's a small chore to have a foil packet laying about for a few days while you spoon tiny amounts out of it but better than the other product which both smelled awful and didn't work.

I went through both boxes of this product in an attempt to get my golden retriever from eating his (and his brother's) poop in the back yard. This product certainly had an effect; my dog went from happily munching on poop to still eating the poop, but now he had a sad, sour, and slightly annoyed face while eating poop. By the end of the second box of powder, my dog had apparently gotten used to the new taste... it didn't slow him down at all. So it didn't work for me. I ended up buying capsaicin spray and spraying all of the piles of poop in the yard to stop him. Even still, when he finds a pile that's fresh, he'll go to town on it. Gross.Good luck to you all!

Doesn’t my little girl look cute? She had the nasty habit of eating her poop. I tried everything on the market, I think. I talked to my vet about food I could feed her without making her sick. She recommended this product. I thought, OH NO, here we go again, but I took her advice and tried it. OMG! It is the best! I followed the instructions. I stopped and she started again. I did the 2nd part of the instructions. I stopped and she started again. I started giving her 1/4tsp 2 times a day and have continued since September 2023. She does not eat her poop any more. I contacted the people at For-Bid to make sure it was safe to give to her everyday. They responded with, Yes, it is safe for her. I am thrilled! I will use this for the rest of her life. I am so thankful she no longer eats her poop. She is so cute and just perfect and now, perfect in every way! Thank you For-Bid for making our lives better!

Didn’t work at all on our four month old puppy. Was still really eager to eat his own poo.
