High density foam has a compression rate of 44lbs. It features the perfect amount of cushioning and stiffness. Its soft but still holds its firmness and support for an individual to sit on it without compressing the foam too much. Compression = firmness compression (not density) is what determines firmness. If you dont want a cushion thats hard as a rock or a mattress that sinks when you sit on it, you have to check the compression or ild number. Compression means the number of pounds necessary to compress a piece of foam 25% and still bounce back to the original thickness. For example, a 4" thick piece of foam that requires 33 lbs. To pack it down 1" and have it return to its full 4" thickness has a 33 lb. Compression rating or (ild) -indention load deflection. - all foam sheets are sold per sheet - not per yard. Do not open with a box cutter. Use a ball point pen or a pencil. Start by making a little incision and break it from there - durability : will last 7 to 10 yearshigh density foam is used for firmness yet relaxable cushion. It has high quality compression and material to keep it lasting for longer periods of time even when harsh weight is applied.

I bought this foam to replace one on a vintage chair as a DIY project. I ended up having someone take care of the job and he was apologetic that the original cushion had a rounded front that this one does not provide. I don't blame the cushion, but a mention that this might be considered would have been appreciated. If I had considered that the front edge might need to be curved I could have gotten a larger size to cut down or look for a cushion with the correct front edge. I'm living with it, I love this chair and the cushion feels so nice! But it doesn't look good! I tried to upload a picture but it wouldn't work.

I did not have to cut, I was off an inch thick and was worried wouldn't be comfortable. But it was, these cushions are great!! 3x24x24

We had an old couch that lost its comfort. The cushions were so flat that we could feel the wooden frame.All we did was order these new upholstery cushions, tuck them in between the springs and the flattened cushions, and the couch is now as comfortable as it was when we first bought it. Also…they do not have any odor and do not need to be aired out before using.

Pretty much what I expected but......the package indicated 3" foam but it contained 4". I was still able to use it so I didn't complain.
