This really compares well to the big name brand. Looks great, feels great, and didn't fog up like many others do. Very happy.

The FMATAL GEAR FMA F5 Storm Goggle Mask (2024 Version) offers improved protection and comfort for paintball enthusiasts. However, some uncertainties regarding certification warrant a closer look, resulting in a 4.2-star rating.Pros:Boosted Protection: This mask boasts an increased protection area compared to previous versions, potentially offering better overall defense against paintballs and other flying debris.Enhanced Comfort: The larger head pad and redesigned ear protection aim to provide a more comfortable wearing experience for extended gameplay.Multi-Layer Design: The mask's multi-layer design allows for the replacement of various accessories for customization and potentially extended lifespan.Breathability: The mask seems breathable, ensuring proper airflow to prevent fogging during intense games.Cons:Certification Confusion: While the mask advertises EN 166 certification, some paintball fields might require ANSI Z87.1 certification. It's important to check your local field's requirements to avoid any issues.Limited Info on Durability: More information about the mask's long-term durability, especially regarding the impact resistance of the materials, would be helpful for potential buyers.Overall:The FMATAL GEAR FMA F5 Storm Goggle Mask (2024 Version) presents itself as a comfortable and potentially protective option for paintball players. The increased protection area, improved comfort features, and multi-layer design make it a compelling choice. However, the lack of clarity regarding ANSI Z87.1 certification and limited durability information are factors to consider.

Padding came off almost immediately. wouldn't stay attached. Visor fogged pretty badly. Maybe I got a defective unit, but it was pretty disappointing.Visibility was decent when it wasn't fogging.

As an avid paintball player with a few years on the tournament side, I really wanted to like this mask and if this is the first mask you have ever purchased, it might seem to suit your needs but for the price point, you can do much better for the money. To put it bluntly , this mask is clearly a Dye i4/i5 knock off - the style is a cross between a Push Unite and a Dye but without the added features of either. If you have a larger face, this is also not the style for you as your chin will be exposed and open to taking hits. The sides/ears are secured to the bottom frame with adhesive tape that didn’t even last long enough to make it to the field. Removing the lens requires you to push in two buckle style clasps on each side and then pry the levers down to release the lens - I almost put my finger through the lens from the amount of pressure it took to disengage the locks. The lens is dual pane which prevents fogging but the inner lens doesn’t line up correctly; the foam was bleeding out of one side right out of the box. The lens also does not line up exactly with the bottom part of the frame when installed creating a small gap which is a HUGE concern considering the paint hitting the mask at 280fps! I do not even feel safe taking these to the field for fear of them failing due to this gap and poor build standards. The only positive on this is the ratcheting strap system but even the pad on the mechanism is cheap plastic and not real foam/poly. The mask is breathable and the hearing factor is pretty good but these positives do not make up for the detractors.Lastly, the price point - I cannot fathom paying $133 for something that is a knock off when you can spend $20 more and get a solid brand with proven safety standards and all the features this mask tries to emulate.Bottom line - this is not the mask you want to spend your money on; spend a couple more bucks and go with a trusted brand.

The FMATAL Gear FMA F5 Storm Goggle is a Dye i4/i5 clone. It is a very good clone though. I do have a few gripes and I cannot confirm whether these are specific to this mask or not.Firstly, you will need to remove the lens before taking this mask out to play because there is a film on the inside that you need to remove. Removing the lens is frustrating, but you can search "How to remove lens from Dye Mask" - which is convenient. The Side panels that cover your rear jaw/ear section fell off immediately when attempting to remove the lens, this is a problem... They used hook and loop to secure these side panels, but the hook and loops on the plastic of the mask is held on by a sticky adhesive that is not stronger than the hook and loop... so now they're both wiggling around on my mask. The mask is breathable and will protect your eyes from a BB/Paintball. It is NOT ANSI Z87.1 certified, but it is EN 166 rated, which is trustworthy. I am not sure anyone at a field would turn you away because this mask is not "U.S. certified", I imagine we can be human and recognize that this is certified elsewhere. The ratchet strap head piece is OK. I don't love it or hate it for myself, but for my kids this is a great design because other straps can be complicated for younger people. The mask comes with some extra pads, should two of the other hook and loop attached pads fall off - I appreciate that. There is a chance, if your mouth is wide open, that your chin could get struck - this is a plus. This mask is very well vented, but does not have the "scream" venting you may have heard "other" masks having. The venting could be done slightly better, but it is good (truly).I cannot confirm whether the parts from this mask and DYE masks are interchangeable, but if they are, that is a huge benefit to both masks. This mask has some quirks, but it is (so far) a good value.
