I love this notebook. The layout makes perfect sense and it has taken me a year of daily journaling and data entry to actually fill its pages. Well put together and quality binding. Nice page material.

I love how sturdy and durable this notebook is, there are a ton of pages and it looks professional and legitimate. A research scientist mentor at my University uses these and I understand why now.

As a kinesthetic learner, I take copious notes. I am in a master's degree program where I live or die by my notes. Unlike spiral-bound ones, these lab notebooks are rugged enough to survive the backpack without damage. And they have enough pages to get me through the term with just one. The quad-rule is eqally good for writing as well as sketching quick tables and diagrams. Well worth the expense.

When I was doing my doctorate, I learned the importance of keeping a log book. Now I'm working for an engineering firm, and I wanted to keep a detailed log of all my calculations and decisions, as well as my unfinished tasks. 158 pages in, I can say that this has worked great. The gridlines are bold without being obtrusive and the binding remains sturdy despite daily use. I read a review from someone who was grateful that the spine lies flat, and I concur that this has been an asset. I also like having plenty of space in the table of contents (more lines than pages!), where I can identify second-level headers of tasks I completed on each page. I'll be ordering a pair of replacement books soon!

This is a very, and I repeat, very nice lab notebook. First of all the front cover is pretty hard (I'm guessing made from plywood), together with the back cover, which is very nice and I'd rather prefer the name to be inside the notebook, since if some chemicals are spilled on the notebook, they can smudge the name and thus will become unreadable and will lose the professional look as well.Second, I love the fact that table of contents is already sketched for you and it's not just one, but 16 pages of table of contents, which should be enough in my opinion.Third, and I think this is the best part, is that it has grids on every single page. I hate that stupid national brand research notebook company, where you have only 1 page with grids followed by 4 absolutely blank pages and the pagination there is weird too. What is that? An art student's sketchbook?Anyways, every single page is paginated, has witnessed by section on the bottom, with the date and you can also label the pages with your projects on the top, so that you don't get lost. It's like an actual scientist designed a lab notebook so that minimum amount of time is spent looking for dates/project numbers.Overall the lab notebook is very nice. It is very pleasing to hold this, opens completely flat no problem and looks professional. Very happy with this, so much worth $16 I spent on it. Will buy again once I run out of pages.I added photos of the lab notebook with a quarter dollar for size reference.

Not only is this a perfect book for day to day research, design, idea dumping, and general calculations; it also has GREAT PAPER QUALITY.Let me clarify: I have found a recent love of fountain pens, and have just as recently found that almost all engineering paper is made from horrible recycled low quality paper. This paper feels like silk, and writes like velvet, has light green graph lines that don't interfere with pencil or pen (a normal 'cheap' graph paper issue).Sometimes I just write in this book because its still the best paper I own :)- PHD Student and Engineer Professional

The right intersection of quality vs price.Slightly oversize, 200 pages, cover is thickish cardboard, not super rigid, so will get a little dog eared over time - and that's OK, by the times it's full if it doesn't have stuff spilled on it, and edges frayed, then what good is it anyway. At about $19 it's about $4 more than I really want to pay - but the quad ruled with those little 1/4" aqua squares are just so darned handy for sketching, tables etc.
