During a diving trip, I jumped off the board into the water. Cool video? Wrong! The head broke off the pole and the head, with GoPro attached, sunk to the bottom of the ocean.

With the X4 in the Dive Case, it floats on its own so you cannot use this as an "underwater inverted tripod", but other than that, everything worked as expected. I used it for a full day of shooting underwater 360 video. It feels a bit "cheap" but worked for its intended purpose.

I used it daily in and out of the water for a week and it has held up so far. It floats and supports the weight of a GoPro in the water. I see in other comments people have had theirs break. Be careful when opening and closing it, don't use it to fend off wild animals, and it will work just fine for you. My only complaint is that the tripod cannot be used when the stick is completely collapsed. You have to pull the lowest tube out a little bit to get the tripod to stand on a surface. I would have bought the Nu Bear original instead of this knock-off, but the OEM didn't have any in stock to buy. Their loss, not mine.

Recently while snorkeling in St. Lucia, I used this product to obtain that extra distance under water to get close to fish and lobsters while snorkeling. Worked great for filming with my GoPro and then compacted to allow me to swim back to shore. Worked great

While the lightness of this product may affect the way you think about the build quality, I have had no issues with it. It may not feel as sturdy, but it has stood up to the rigors I have put it through!

I bought this to take it to our family Switzerland trip. The extender broke after using it for few hours. Don’t recommend it. I’m a positive note…it does float!

is not expensive, float and if you treat it with care could last... it has a lanyard as an extra security while filming in my boat, I had drop it in the water and it float with or without the waterproof case installed in my gopro hero 10... spoiler alert...
