I got this to make my own dreads. It works well for that.

I already have one or two of this style flea comb. What I like best about it is the grip. It's non-slip, so when you're dunking the comb into soapy water to drown those pesky fleas, it doesn't slip out of your hand very easily. The grip is also shaped properly since you'll be holding it in one directly while combing at an angle. It's well made. The handle is solid. The comb tines are very close together. It's perfect to combing out fleas. I use mine on my cats, but I'm sure it would work well for dogs, too.

My dog and I like to walk through some woods near our house. These woods are also inhabited by deer, which unofrtunately means there are deer ticks all over. This winter was a mild one, so I anticipate there will be many many ticks this spring. This comb will definitely do the trick getting ticks out of her coat. While we haven't seen ticks yet, she did get a bunch of small seeds that were about the size of a tick stuck to her coat the other day. This comb made it so easy to remove these stupid seeds that clung to her coat.I like that the handle of the comb is very comfortable to grip, and the teeth are long enough to penetrate her top coat to get to the undercoat. The comb also did a fantastic job at grabbing some loose undercoat hair and was a snap to clean up.Anyone who has a longer haired dog should have a fine-toothed comb in their grooming arsenal, and this one is a great one to have!
