I bought 2 of these to replace one I had for years. Looked like the same item but does not work like it! My original was made in England, these are made in China. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Sturdy and works. Nice handle, good construction. Just wish the head were a little longer.

I got this comb to see if it would be effective in removing fleas my dog picks up on his morning walk. We have used Rx flea control on him in the past in the summer months and a time or two he has been vaguely lethargic after application and the last time I used it he got a terrible rash. Much research about the flea medication made me decide not to use it again but rather keep up with them the old fashioned, safer way. And this comb works perfectly. Just comb through the coat and any odd fleas will be trapped.I don't know if this would be good if your dog has a bad infestation but for the amount of fleas my dogs picks up it is perfect and no more worries about side effects, toxins from the medication.Happy Dog, Happy Dog Mommy!

We had a terrible flea infestation this year, worse than prior years combined. Frontline and flea collars was not enough. The one tool that made the difference was the flea comb. This flea comb is terrific. With the wooden handle, it is very strong and easy to grasp. I used it on our dog and both of our cats. Our dog has very thick undercoat that was very tough to comb, I doubt a lessor product made of plastic would have worked.Combing twice a day reduced the suffering of the animals greatly.

What I like the most about this comb is the wooden handle. I dislike plastic because of the effects on our environment and I try to avoid it wherever I can.The comb works quite well, but I am not sure about how the teeth are attached to the comb. One tooth is loose after only two uses.

I bought several flea combs at once to find a good one since I couldn't tell from pictureswhat the teeth spacing was like or the quality of the combs. My dog had a thick doublecoat and I was concerned about being able to comb through to get fleas since combing himwould result in a comb full of the undercoat hairs no matter how much he was brushed prior. This is a review of Safari Flea Comb for Dogs with wood handle. This flea comb seems to have a bigger space between the teeth, and didn't remove fleasas easily as other combs. Also it rusted fast within the first week of use.I used the comb along with bathing of my dog since with wet fur it was easier to spotthe red-brown fleas or Dog Flea ( Ctenocephalides canis ) that are more flat with fatrears. Dog fleas' strategy was to grip the fur and stay on,making me have to comb several times on the flea to try to dislodge it, Sometimes the fleawas very good and scraping and combing the flea would take awhile to get it loose. Also, this comb isn't very useful for Cat fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) since thosecat fleas have smaller black bodies that are narrow and easily crawl out of the teeth tohop away if I didn't thrust my comb into soapy water fast enough, and yes I tried to getthem in the soap water asap, into a separate bowl. Fleas are sneaky and like to crawlup the dog to air if the dog is sitting in water, soap water also makes it harder forthe black colored Cat Flea to use its wings for a big hop away escape.Bottom line is this comb was a big disappointment and waste of money. The best comb that I wish I had and knew about years ago was an all metal flea comb

I love this little comb because it grabs & lifts the fleas right out. This is one of the things we've been able to use to control our dog's fleas without poisoning her with chemicals that may cause health problems like cancer. I use it before & after baths & I use soapy water to duck the fleas in. They immediately die of suffocation in the soapy water & fall to the bottom of the container. This combined with consistent carpet washing, doggie baths, flea traps & diatomaceous earth treatments has kept our flea problem almost non-existent.

I wasn't sure if the teeth of this comb would go all the way to the skin of my Cairn Terrier, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it works very well and removes some of the dead undercoat too. The wood handle is comfortable, so my hand doesn't tire while using it.
