I was having problem with an old adjustable regulator, you know the ones with the red adjustable pressure knob. Well those don't last long. I went through two of them. I decided to buy this 2 stage POL regulator and seems to work great so far. My custom propane heater was shutting down from lack of pressure due to faulty regulator and this regulator should do much better. I wish the fitting of 3/8" NPT was 3/8 flare but not that big of a deal. For those that do not know the 3/8 flare fitting is smaller than the 3/8 NPT. I just happened to have a spare fitting 3/8 male NPT at one end and a 3/8 male flare at the other end which adapted to fit my propane hose of 3/8 female flare.

My original regulator failed just in time for the recent sub-freezing weather. Thanks to Amazon's fast shipping I had this replacement overnight. It fit perfectly and installed easily with no leaks and it worked perfectly. It worked through the coldest ice storms this year.

I replaced my two-stage regulator last December and that made all the difference. It appears that the unit failed or is poorly working, but I can get a new one on Amazon next day and for under $19, so it's the best first step. I'd highly recommend buying an extra one to have around if your existing regulator is old. I'm in the PNW and the erratic weather can be the culprit for the failure. Also, am a full-time RV'er, so it's in continuous use. It's possible that manufacturing standards have diminished over the years, hence why they are not as robust as they used to be. ALSO, don't forget to buy more o-rings. The o-ring needs to replaced from time to time.

I got this for a half the price on Amazon and it works great. It's a two-stage regulator with the correct pressure reduction ratings. I cleaned up the tank once I pulled it off wire brushed painted it and put on the new regulator. No leaks, and everything works perfect

I was surprised by the small size of this two-stage regulator. If it works as well as a larger one, it will be very useful to anyone looking to use it for an inline application or fit it into a small space. It seems well built and was easy to install. Given its tiny size, I am a bit concerned about how long it will last and how well it will withstand cold weather, which is the only reason I have given it less than five stars. So far, it is working as expected and fits very nicely along my propane gas line between the 400 lb supply tank to the propane connection on my park model trailer. If it continues to perform well in the long run, I will upgrade my rating.
