These will be so cute for someone about to start kindergarten. The laminated particle board is sturdy enough, and definitely can be written on with dry erase markers. Definitely dry erase only, we wouldn't want to risk magic markers or anything else permanent! The surface is smooth enough that it might survive if that certain someone wants to try her crayons...

This GMEMNOV First/Last Day of School Sign was thicker than anticipated and is quite durable. He has a similar idea Christmas paddle that we use each Christmas and this paddle will be perfect for keeping track of his school days photos when he starts junior kindergarten in September. I have two children and I have been taking pictures of their first and last day of school for several years now. I've always just printed a paper from the compter for them to hold indicating the year and their grade, but these signs are much nicer! I love that the signs are thick and durable cardboard with a slightly shiny coating for added durability. The years include everything from preschool to kindergarten, to every year in between all the way to grade 12 and college. In Ontario, we have junior and senior kindergarten, so I do wish there were two signs to differentiate those. I also wish there was a sign for first year of university instead of college. However, that is just me being picky. I really love these signs, and they are two-sided so it has the first day on one side and the last day on the back! These will be so easy to pull out to take a quick picture with year after year!
